CGP has an immediate opening for a Director of Membership. The Director is responsible for the strategic and operational management of membership development, recruitment, and retention. The primary objective of this position is to manage and implement programs that create meaningful experiences for members and which meet the recruitment and retention goals of CGP.
The National Association of Charitable Gift Planning (CGP) is a national membership organization serving professionals involved in charitable gift planning. With approximately 8,000 members nationwide, CGP sets standards, promotes best practices, provides education and is a national voice in advocacy for charitable giving. The incumbent will Develop and implement programs and services for individual members and councils. They will also formulate internal organizational policies for individual and council membership operations, billing and database management. Oversee training and supervise policy implementation related to membership management.
Develop and implement comprehensive membership communications procedures for recruitment of individual members and councils.
Serve as liaison to council leaders to provide technical and governance support, articulate policy, resolve problems and build relationships to maintain existing councils and recruit the formation of new councils.
Oversee CGPLink a comprehensive online community established with the CGP website. Establish strategy for increased member engagement, use and presentation of online resources, integration of community into all major organization activities.
Work closely with inter-department staff in assessing, obtaining and distributing educational and professional content specifically focused to individual members.
Develop curriculum, establish session topics, recruit speakers and set schedule for annual Council Leadership Summit. Develop and coordinate partnerships with member service providers and vendors.
Required Qualifications     
REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree, plus 3 years of related experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills. The ability to strategically assess, develop and implement membership programs. Strong presentation skills and ability to present the organization in a professional manner both to internal constituents and the public. Ability to negotiate partnerships with aligned organizations and vendors for member services. Ability to work independently in managing projects and creatively and collaboratively in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications     
Direct experience in association membership and the use of database programs and reports.
