The mission of NAMI Greater Indianapolis, is to offer information and referral services, run education programs and support groups, host mental health awareness events and activities and advocate at the local and state levels.  In addition, NAMI Greater Indianapolis provides access to local support groups, programs, services and connection to helpful individuals.  NAMI Greater is also required to provide endorsement signatures for clubs as part of the startup process.
 
The Chapter Administrator is responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.  The Chapter Administrator reports to the Executive Board and BOD (when applicable) and is responsible for providing office management services to NAMI Greater Indianapolis. This includes but not limited to maintaining office services, supervising staff, intern staff and maintaining office records.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•         High school diploma with a minimum of two to three years' experience in the non-profit sector
•         Supervisory experience
•         Community-service driven
•         Proficiency in computer skills
•         QuickBooks
•         Clear and concise verbal and written skills
•         Ability to multi-task
•         Ability to perform administrative duties
•         Strong presentation skills
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•         Experience with NAMI programs
•         Undergraduate Degree in Social Sciences, Human Services, etc.
•         Program/project management experience
•         Supervisory experience
 
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
•         Supervise staff (direct, interns, volunteers)
•         Provide a friendly and timely response to all telephone calls, email, and routine correspondence
•         Maintain membership records and donor lists and provide data to Board of Directors in a timely manner as needed
•         Process A/R, A/P, payroll administration, and all other office accounting functions
•         Create NAMI Greater Indianapolis annual budget with Board Treasurer
•         Manage interns and volunteers
•         Manage NAMI Greater Indianapolis's website and social media accounts
•         Monitor and maintain office supplies and office equipment
•         Manage contractual agreements and communicate contract terms to Board of Directors
•         Ensure that insurance renewals are completed in a timely manner
•         Ensue timely filing of NAMI Greater Indianapolis's annual tax return
•         Ensure timely payment of payroll taxes
•         Maintain affiliate certification with national organization
•         Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings and provide written monthly operations report
•         Prepare and distribute agenda and supporting documents for monthly Board of Director's meetings
•         Ensure new members of Board of Directors are properly on-boarded, and maintain current Board of Director's manual
•         Other duties as assigned
 
PROGRAMS AND EDUCATION RESPONSIBILITIES
•         Coordinate and schedule NAMI Greater Indianapolis's programs, including NAMI signature programs, for each year
•         Coordinate and assign facilitators for signature programs
•         Provide administrative support for all NAMI programs administered at the affiliate level
•         Coordinate enrollment for participants in signature programs
•         Disseminate upcoming NAMI events, information and community resources to the public as requested
•         Other duties as assigned
 
EVENTS/FUNDRAISER RESPONSIBILITIES
•         Assist in fundraising, including researching grant opportunities, writing grant applications, and administering grants received
•         Provide administrative support for special events committees
•         Provide administrative support for fundraising activities
•         Other duties as assigned
