Dress for Success Indianapolis (DFSI) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.  We provide women with the supportive services they need to make life transitions that result in women achieving self-sufficiency and socioeconomic advancement.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing & Development Director will oversee the logistics of the largest DFSI annual fundraiser, Stepping Out In Style. The Marketing & Development Director will work with the Executive Director on fundraising, grant writing, and be responsible for grant reporting. Managing the Marketing & Technology Committee will be an essential duty, working with volunteers on social media, public relations, the website, and technology issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fundraising and Community Partnerships
• Research and write program-related grants 
• Maintain grant records for program grants and write reports for such grants
• Partner with Executive Director on corporate and community relationships and activities such as cultivation events 
• Responsible for Stepping Out In Style logistics and assist Executive Director with additional fundraising initiatives
• Conceptualize, manage and execute direct mail (digital and print) annual fund campaigns
• Act as staff liaison for third-party fundraisers
Communications/Public Relations
• Manage the Marketing and Technology Committee to implement annual communications plan
• Oversee all print materials, including Stepping Out In Style
• Coordinate, design and execute e-newsletter
• Manage volunteers to oversee website and all other communications tools as assigned, including social media presence 
• Partner with Executive Director on outside speaking engagements
Volunteer Management 
• Strategically plan and grow volunteer roles to support needs of the organization as it relates to Stepping Out In Style, communications, public relations, or technology
General Administration and Organizational Support 
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
• Manage and maintain all technology needs for affiliate & office
• Bachelor's degree or higher education required or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience, work in nonprofit preferred
• Sales or fund raising, grant writing or professional writing, marketing, or nonprofit experience desired
• Highly-developed writing skills needed
• Experience managing technology systems preferred
• Design experience with programs like InDesign, Illustrator and WordPress preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
ADA Requirements
Visual:  Required to view and/or prepare reports and other written or computer-generated  documents; 
Oral:  Required for heavy communications by telephone, one-on-one conversations and to conduct a wide variety of small to large group presentations;
Hearing: Required for heavy communications by telephone, one-on-one conversations and to conduct a wide variety of small to large group presentations;
Dexterity: Required for heavy keyboard use, maintaining computerized calendars and preparation of documents, reports, and presentations.  
Other Physical: Requires sitting and standing for extended periods of time.  Requires the ability to climb stairs.  Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.  Some travel both local and out-of-town is also required to attend meetings and conferences.
