The Manager of Financial Operations is responsible for directing all areas of finance, accounting and financial reporting, Position is responsible for recording all financial transactions, managing accounts payable and cash flow.   
The Manager of Financial Operations will report financial information to management and the board of the organization and will participate in financial discussions required to assure the sustainably of the organization and its ability to service its mission.
 
Duties:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Financial Operations will work within with the organization's expectations for customer service, teamwork, and interpersonal relations. 
 
Specific responsibilities include:
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director on operational and strategic issues as they arise through recommendations to the Executive Director via financial analysis and projections, cost identifications and allocations, and revenue/expense analysis.
- Oversee and manage the annual budgeting, financial forecasting and cash flow plan for the organization
- Ensure the financial records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and prepare monthly financial statements accordingly.
- Evaluate cash flow and acquire financing as needed.
- Transaction accounting entry including accounts payable, donations and receivables
- Responsible for all aspects of month end and year end close processes
- Process and record payroll
- Assist in the preparation of grant documents as it relates to financial projections, budgets, and reporting.
- Manage the organizations facilities through purchases/capital improvements and maintenance of fixed asset records. 
- Coordinate all audit activities as it relates to the organizations independent auditors and their preparation of the audit and tax returns including the annual 990.
- Participate in board, committee, management, and employee meetings.
- Performs others duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
 
Qualifications:
The Manager of Financial Operations will have at least three to five years of professional accounting experience with preference given to nonprofit experience.  The candidate will have experience managing the financial framework of a highly entrepreneurial organization.
 
Additionally, the candidate will have the following experience and attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Finance, or Accounting. 
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Must have excellent people skills and have experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.
- Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or board members.
- Flexible, a self-starter, and able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented.  Must be able to handle pressure, manage time effectively, and follow through reliably.
-  Proficient in use of spreadsheet software, accounting software, and databases.  Hands on experience using Quickbooks software and/or Salesforce.com software a plus.
