The Foundation project coordinator serves as the assistant to the executive director, Foundation president, and  board of trustees, and provides support to Foundation staff with the coordination of all events and projects.
 
Organization overview: 
Founded in 1870 at Indiana Asbury (now DePauw University) in Greencastle, Ind., Kappa Alpha Theta is the first Greek-letter Fraternity known among women. In creating Kappa Alpha Theta, our founders were leading the way for women's groups and for women in higher education. Our members are women of all ages: women who attended college in nearly every US state and Canadian province, women who live all over the world, and women with varied professions, faiths, and ethnic backgrounds. Kappa Alpha Theta currently has over 200,000 living members. We have chapters on over 140 college campuses across the U.S. and Canada, and over 215 active alumnae groups around the world. The organization comprises the Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, Foundation, and Housing Corporation.
 
Essential functions include oversight of the following areas.
 
• Acts as a liaison to the board of trustees, coordinates in-person board meetings, monthly board conference calls, volunteer committee meetings, and task force meetings, including the collaborative planning of meeting agendas, preparation and/or coordination of all meeting materials, updates to the board intranet site, and venue preparation.
• Manages the executive director's calendar.
• Supports the executive director with tasks surrounding meetings with Kappa Alpha Theta personnel.
• Works closely with the executive director to manage strategic planning activities.
• Plans staff meetings and other events, coordinating all event arrangements.
• Assists the executive director and nominating committee chairman with preparations for board elections, orientation, and onboarding.
• Has a strong knowledge of Theta Foundation bylaws and governing policies.
• Assists the executive director and board members with data and reporting needs utilizing the membership database.
• Answers phones and greets visitors to the Foundation office.
• Provides general administrative support and performs other tasks as assigned.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
• Bachelor's degree preferred; associate's degree required.
• Experience planning, prioritizing, and organizing multiple concurrent assignments, projects, and tasks.
• Experience in the nonprofit sector.
• Experience working with executive staff members, board of directors, and/or volunteers.
• Event coordination experience preferred.
 
GUIDELINES AND SUPERVISION
The project coordinator receives general supervision from the executive director but must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. A number of routine tasks will be assigned to the project coordinator and it will require the individual to be highly organized and quality-focused.
