Indiana War Memorial Foundation, Inc. supports the Indiana War Memorial Historic District by providing financial support and increasing community awareness of the Indiana War Memorials.  The Foundation is seeking a Development and Support Director to increase the Foundation's fundraising capacity and provide marketing support to the Historic District.  Initially, this is a part time position, reporting directly to the Foundation President.  This person may frequently serve as the representative of the Foundation, raising community awareness, promoting public support, and fostering corporate and Foundation relations.
Position Concept: 
The Development and Support Director works to achieve the Foundation's long term and annual objectives in the areas of fundraising and community awareness and serves as an ambassador for the Foundation in building community relations to achieve the Foundation's goals. The Director takes care of record keeping and correspondence on behalf of the Foundation.
Specific Responsibilities:
1) Provide leadership for all fundraising efforts including:  annual campaign, brick sales and year-round giving to achieve fundraising goals.
2) Meet regularly and consistently with potential donors to tell the story of the Foundation and secure their support.  Execute the recognition plan to thank all donors.
3) Keep accurate records and handle all correspondence for the Foundation.
4) Develop meaningful partnerships with military support organizations.  Provide effective support for other community partnerships developed by yourself or the Board of Directors.
5) Develop and implement plans to improve awareness of the Indiana War Memorials and the Foundation.  Implement the communications plan to include 3 times a year newsletter.
6) Search out opportunities to tell the War Memorials story at civic, fraternal and religious events. Provide content and audio visual support to support Foundation Board members who make civic presentations.
7) Plan and execute events at the War Memorial that both raise funds and awareness.
8) Maintain a positive relationship with the Indiana War Memorials Executive Director and Commissioners.
9) Develop volunteer teams to promote brick sales, speaker's bureau and each special event.
10) Attend meetings of the Executive Committee and the Foundation Board of Directors.
11) Together with the Board of Directors, develop a strategic fundraising plan.
