The Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center (INRC) is celebrating 24 years of helping neighborhoods thrive, and is looking for a Resource Development Director. INRC strengthens neighbors and neighborhood-based organizations through facilitation of sustained conversations, targeted training and effective coaching. Our Resource Development Director will serve as lead staff to manage fundraising, communications and marketing functions of the corporation. The Resource Development Director will research funding opportunities and prepare grant proposals, as well as other funding opportunities, including the organization's annual event. The Director of Resource Development & Marketing will assist neighborhood and other community-based organizations to communicate about their activities to other neighborhoods and to the community at large, and will support INRC's mission by informing constituencies about INRC services, programs, and activities.
•        Create and implement a long-range development plan in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Board.
•        Research funding opportunities, develop resource materials, and write grant applications.
•        Plan and facilitate annual direct mail appeal.
•         Manage planning and production (including writing and editing) of publications, including newsletters, brochures, reports, videos, and other means of communication.
•         Maintain media relations, including writing press releases and public service announcements, as well as development of story ideas, relationship building with various print and electronic media personnel, and other activities to make media more aware of INRC and neighborhoods.
•         Oversee donor acknowledgement and donor database.
•         Serve as lead staff of INRC special events, such as Neighbor Power Indy and the INRC annual meeting (including INRC's 2019 25th annual meeting)
•         Serve as ex officio member of Resource Development and Marketing Committee of the INRC Board of Directors.
•         Design and support "INRC Ambassadors" program, to serve as an outreach and marketing vehicle for the corporation.
•         Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•        Strong understanding of the principles and applications of asset-based community development in the context of neighborhood development and organizing. 
•        Ability to manage and maintain internal and external relationships.
•        Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including abilities to produce high-quality written materials on short deadlines.
•        Ability to manage and participate in multiple projects in a dynamic, team-based work environment.
•        Leadership abilities with diverse teams of staff, volunteers, and community representatives.
•        Ability to effectively communicate and work with people from a variety of socio-economic, racial, ethnic, religious and political backgrounds, beliefs and practices.
•        Ability to thrive and function in a variety of neighborhood and community settings.
•        Ability to prepare and make analyses, reports, and presentations of performance, proposals, and plans for management.
