General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics
To provide direction and leadership on gift development, strategic planning, and public relations for the IU Center for Global Health and the AMPATH-Kenya program.

40% Design, implement, coordinate and lead a comprehensive program to increase awareness and generate and secure philanthropic support for endowment, core operations and strategic initiatives for the IU Center for Global Health and AMPATH-Kenya program.
20% Develop proposals for prospective donors, including major and planned gifts, as well as corporate and foundation donors. Maintain strong relationships with these individuals and entities, and steward any resulting gifts in a timely and appropriate manner.
15% Work and collaborate with the Associate Director of the IU Center for Global Health to develop and implement a strategic plan for development and communications activities, along with annual work plans to meet these goals, objectives and budgets.
15% Oversee the development and implementation of a targeted communications plan, including the composition and coordination of all fundraising and stewardship materials, direct mailings and literature and public relations communications to the various media, i.e., television, radio, and newspaper.
5% Oversee activities related to current and small gift donors, as well as fundraising campaigns and IU Center for Global Health Development Board activities.
5% Work and collaborate with IUSM Office of Gift Development to ensure that the development programs of the IU Center for Global Health are compatible with the School's programs and to receive referrals for perspective donors and utilize the resources of that office and the IU Foundation for prospect research.
Minimum education: Bachelor's degree required
Minimum experience: 5 years experience in major gift development, non-profit management, or business management
Preferred education: Master's degree preferred; non-profit management, business management or public administration also preferred.
Preferred experience: Background in media relations, writing, and international experience highly desired
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Strong public relations and excellent verbal and communications skills

• Strong analytical skills
• Have a valid, current passport, and be able to travel internationally, nationally, or locally
• Ability to attend, speak and hear at large, small and individual meetings
• Ability to talk on the phone, and use a computer
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to create and strengthen a passion for the missions of the IU Center for Global Health and AMPATH-Kenya program.
