IAN has been supporting and listening to the needs of the afterschool field for over twelve years.  Our communications consist of both internal and external efforts to increase and track engagement with the Network.  Our work has yielded a need to increase our communications support in a more intentional way.  It is with this understanding and need that IAN seeks to hire a Communications and Engagement Coordinator.
 
We expect 2018-2019 to be another exciting school year of growth and the Communications and Engagement Coordinator will play a pivotal role.
 
IAN is seeking a talented and experienced individual with a background in youthwork, relationship management and/or communications for this new role.

The Indiana Afterschool Network serve as a driving force in Indiana and as a national leader in out-of-school learning.  We strive to bring together atypical stakeholders, break down long-standing barriers and build stronger systems of support for youth and families.
 
As a state intermediary, we create expanded-learning systems to unite partners around the shared mission that afterschool plays a vital role in a child's education; we coordinate and maximize school and community resources and drive improvement through community engagement.
 
IAN believes that together schools, communities and families can create a seamless, fun and inspiring day of learning before, during, and after the school bell rings.
 
Strengthened by our national 50 State Afterschool Network, IAN develops and shares quality best practices to ensure affordable, sustainable afterschool and summer learning programs.

The successful candidate will-

LEAD:
• Engagement management system (Salesforce) - entering and maintaining information; customer service, reports, updates, etc. 
• Annual event vendor relationships – customer service, external and internal communications
• Regional affiliate website with event announcements, photos, updating calendar, news articles, press releases, etc.  
 
MANAGE:
• Organizational website with event announcements, photos, updating calendar, news articles, press releases, etc. 
• Indiana Out-of-School Mapping Database project – partnership logistics, database support, connectivity to engagement management system
 
SUPPORT:
• Organizational external strategic communications plan - monthly e-newsletters, monthly themes, connectivity to engagement management system
• Organizational engagement plan
• Annual event programming booklet, event announcements, invitations, programs, and signage
• Workshops, trainings, guest speaker engagements, and other events 
• Other duties as deemed necessary or important by supervisor
 
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred 
• Experience in relationship management, volunteer/member coordination, communications
• Child and Youth Care Credential (CYC) preferred 
• Knowledge of a CRM tool like Salesforce highly recommended 
• Computer skills-Microsoft Office and data entry capabilities
• Project management skills 
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
