Part-time, 25 hours a week.
Work with the staff team of the finance department with constituencies of the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) regarding their special giving for the work of Global Ministries.
The Finance office of the Divisions of Overseas and Homeland Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) maintains and reports all the financial aspects of the division and in conjunction with Wider Church Ministries of the United Church of Christ facilitates the financial information and reporting for Global Ministries.  We seek a well-organized, motivated, team-oriented accountant to provide accounting functions and to assist the Vice President for Finance in the everyday functions of the Finance office.
Position duties-- The responsibilities of the Finance Associate include the following tasks:
•         Process all receipts with posting to proper ledgers and databases
•         Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
•         Process journal entries, check requests and wire transfers
•         Analyze account information as needed to reconcile accounts or assist associates with detail information
•         Assist staff with budget to actual analysis
•         Organize and maintain accounting, missionary and miscellaneous files and records including those of a confidential nature
•         Maintain a detailed record of storage files and purging files according to the retention policy
•         Assist with payroll processing and reconciliations
•         Open missionary mail and process payments for bills as directed by the missionary; notify missionaries by email of matters of importance; copy bank statements and mail to the missionaries in a file to be sent monthly to the missionary
•         Assist with the annual audit
•         Prepare 1099s
Position qualifications
•         Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
•         Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
•         Proficient computer skills (accounting software, databases, Excel, Outlook, Word)
•         Strong analytical, time management and organizations skills
•         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•         Full-time work schedule, very limited travel
