Kiwanis Youth Programs Department
Core purpose is to develop, implement and manage youth protection initiatives for youth and adult audiences, oversee policies and procedures within Kiwanis International organization.
• Bachelor's degree in public health, human services, education, law enforcement, criminal justice, risk management or equivalent degree
• Minimum of 2 years full-time experience in the field of victim services and/or crime impacting children and a knowledge and understanding of violence, social media, adults working with children, and issues related to youth protection.
• Minimum of 3 years managing professional level staff
• Experience conducting investigations involving youth
• Experience creating event crisis plans
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with a cross section of constituents including adult and youth members, and youth protection stakeholders.
• Capable of maintaining positive working relationships
• Development and delivery of presentations
• Continuous innovation and strategic thinking
• Conflict management
• Experience working in a multitask environment with emphasis on prioritizing and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google suite products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Work experience with volunteers a plus
• Work experience with students a plus
• Kiwanis Family or service club experience a plus
• Multilingual a plus
• Knowledge of reporting requirements and safety requirements for youth training and protection
• May be requested to work evenings and weekends for special programs and events
• Domestic and some international travel may be required
• Moderate physical demands, especially in executing events like convention and leadership programs (lifting, carrying, moving rapidly from one activity to the next, long hours, etc,). Some programs occur in a natural setting, such as a camp facility
• Frequent use of a laptop and other similar pieces of technology
• Required to work in a cubicle alongside co-workers.
