Step-Up's mission is to promote health and well-being among underserved and hard to reach populations by providing services, education, training and advocacy. Step up is currently seeking a Director of Finance.
 
Step-Up's evolving vision is to identify unmet needs in our community and provide solutions in collaboration with our community partners to enhance health. Step Up services focus on HIV prevention, education, testing, and services and also on re-entry support and services.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
1. Perform all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
2. Maintain all banking relationships and monitor cash reserves and investments.
3. Ensure timely bank reconciliation.
4. Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place.
5. Oversee purchasing, procurements and contracting, including office leases, business insurance, health insurance, etc.
6. Create and monitor budgets and budget projections for the entire organization as well as specific programs and projects.
7. Ensure compliance with funding and grant requirements including proper cost allocation among funding sources.
8. Work with staff to manage grant submissions, awards, and reporting requirements.
9. Perform financial planning including cash flow projections, analysis of operating and reserve fund balances and projections, and long range financial planning.
10. Prepare monthly and other reports/financial statements for Executive Director, Board of Directors, funding agencies, and management team.
11. Arrange and facilitate all audits and interim work and ensure tax filings.
12. Assist with new staff interviews as needed.
13. Provide support as requested by Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field required.
CPA or MBA in business, accounting or related field preferred.
Five years' experience in finance or accounting role with non-profit required.
Fund accounting experience preferred.
 
Language Ability:
Ability to read and speak English required.
 
Other Skills:
Proficiency in accounting and payroll software, Word and Excel required.
