The Diversity & Inclusion Officer will work to research and assess, design, develop, implement, and evaluate diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives appropriate to organizational values, goals, and strategic priorities of the Library. This role will be responsible to lead and provide foundational understanding for the development of projects and processes to implement solutions that better equip library staff with the skills and knowledge needed to improve internal, external, and intra-departmental communication and public service.
A successful candidate will... 
• Have a Bachelor's degree (required) or a Master's degree (preferred).
• Have demonstrated evidence of successful work experience in diversity & inclusion
• Have excellent written, oral and visual presentation skills
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills with all levels of employees and management
• Be bilingual (preferred but not required)

What does the job look like? 
• Gather, analyze, and report data to identify issues, trends, demographics, or other relevant information and statistics to drive D&I project methodology. Manage the implementation of D&I projects and strategies.
• Research the best-suited diversity and inclusion tools for implementation at the organization, including the identification of subject-matter experts for relevant projects mindful of connecting back to library institutional understanding.
• Represent D&I programs and projects to internal and external stakeholders, as needed.
• Establish and maintain relationships with relevant groups and organizations to stay abreast of D&I best practices; including the work of relevant national library associations.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to successfully implement D&I initiatives cognizant of internal human resource and external public service factors.
• Work in partnership with human resources and public services to schedule trainings and activities.
• Identify new opportunities to engage staff in community conversations and activities related to library D&I priorities; Attend D&I workshops/conferences to stay abreast of new and developing D&I issues, programs and advancements.
