Kiwanis Youth Programs Department
Responsible for communications originating from the KYP team, including executive correspondence, speeches, key messages and published writing representative of Kiwanis International. Coordinate and develop communications initiatives and opportunities relative to the KYP team and volunteer leadership, as well as coordinate and support executive-level special projects. Coordinate and develop public relations strategy, materials and correspondence, press releases, and other communications materials as well as Executive scheduling. Act as liaison between executive. Manage the department-wide calendar. Provide support to the KYP Executive Officer.

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, public relations, communications or equivalent degree
• Minimum 2 years' experience in public relations, media communications or journalism
• Experience creating communications and managing social media for executives
• Experience effectively working in a team environment
• Strong project management and multitasking skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and editing skills
• Internet communications proficiency, including writing and posting content
• Experience working with corporate board officers or volunteer board officers and/or leaders
• Previous experience in a customer service-oriented environment a plus
• Microsoft Office Suite products
• Microsoft Outlook and Google Chrome'utilization of calendar, email and document tools
• Strategic and creative thinker
• A commitment to maintaining positive working relationships
• Strong project coordination and multitasking skills
• Demonstrates a high level of discernment
• Previous experience working with volunteers a plus
• Experience working in a newsroom, PR agency or broadcast journalism a plus
• Kiwanis Family experience a plus. Multilingual a plus

• Some evening and weekend work required
• Limited domestic and international travel may be required
• Extensive sitting, working at/on a computer required
• Significant amount of telephone communication
• Some events may also require a considerable amount of walking and/or standing
• Some lifting of up to 10-45 pounds may be necessary
