Job Objective:
The Direct Mail Clerk assists the Direct Mail & Donor Data Assistants with data entry, donor correspondence – including prayer requests & donor thank you letters, and donor research.  This position is seasonal from November to January 25, 2019.

• Data entry of white mail gifts:  entering new donor information and posting gifts to current donor records. Enter all credit card, recurring, Planned Giving (memorials and matching gifts), event, kettle, and grant gifts.
• Data entry of list maintenance items – address changes, name changes, reduced mail, deceased donors, etc.
• Internet research for donors with bad addresses
• Notifying Corps Officers of monthly prayer requests and donor comments
• Weekly prayer request donor correspondence & provide list to DHQ officers/employees. 
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Annual Giving & Database Services

Minimum Qualifications:  
The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. 

High School Diploma, some college preferred. 

Background Checks:   
Position requires a background check to be completed.  Findings may disqualify an individual for this position.

Customer service experience, competency with database management software systems

(Example: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard.)

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel and be able to navigate the internet, Salesforce experience preferred.  Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to work independently.    Applicant must have the ability to work with confidential information
