The Director of Client Services (DCS) is responsible for providing supports, resources, and leadership to supported living, supervised group living, service development and related areas of the organization. The DCS will assist to mentor and provide compassionate support to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, while working to further the agency mission: "Partnering with people of all ages and abilities to lead meaningful and active lives."
Duties and responsibilities
•  Oversee supervision of all areas of agency services, including supervision of residential, community living, employment, and habilitation programs
•  Oversee placement of clients in group home settings
•  Responsible for supervising Assistant Directors in ensuring proper and accurate records are completed and kept in accordance to agency policies
•  Develop new and manage ongoing client services 
•  Assure compliance with agency, state and federal policies, procedures, and regulations
•  Assure satisfaction of clients, clients' families, guardians, employers, referral sources, and funding sources
•  Assure stability and growth of service areas  
•  Establish, monitor, and maintain services budget
•  Develop and recommend policies and procedures to assure best practices are used in service programs
•  Develop and monitor services departmental goals and key performance indicators
•  Maintain regular and open communication with staff and coworkers
•  Responsible for the safety of clients in agency services
•  Oversee agency accreditations related to services, including the accreditation process and ongoing compliance with standards
•  Work with the Executive Team, Chief Executive Officer, and the Agency Board of Directors to develop, implement, and monitor the short and long-term strategic goals of the agency
•  Participate in professional organizations and inter-agency committees as approved by the CEO
•  Engage in collaborative relationships with other agencies and businesses to help further the agency mission
•  Other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Special Education, Psychology or related field required; Master's Degree preferred.  A minimum of ten (10) years progressive supervisory and administrative experience is a must.  A valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle report are required.
Working conditions
Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  This is a sedentary role with periods of increased walking or standing needed.  File maintenance and other activities require the employee to stand, sit, squat, bend at the waist and knees.  The position requires a moderately high volume of computer work, including data entry and spreadsheet maintenance.  When working with clients, there is always the possibility of aggressive acts.  Aggressive acts could consist of pulling, pushing, pinching, biting, hair pulling, kicking, slapping, punching, scratching, head butting, and throwing objects.
