Kiwanis Children's Fund Department
The Program Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating various philanthropic programs for the Children's Fund. The Program Specialist performs a variety of complicated tasks, including financial reporting, payment disbursement, project research, and donor outreach, which require a high level of accuracy as well as a certain degree of creativity and latitude.


Educational Requirements:
• A bachelor's degree in public affairs, philanthropic studies, civic leadership, management, or equivalent degree.

Experiential Requirements:
• Minimum two years of increasingly responsible professional or administrative experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities listed
• Demonstrated experience and success in program development, implementation, and evaluation
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and compile information for planning and reports
• Ability to manage complex and varied global relationships
• Commitment to recognize and respect the many forms of diversity
• Knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures in the nonprofit field highly desired
• Professional or volunteer experience with a nonprofit or service organization, including fundraising or donor services, highly desired

Skill Requirements:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to write for a variety of mediums and audiences including professional correspondence, forms and applications, and news articles
• Ability to think strategically and creatively
• Demonstrated history of success working both independently and as part of a team
• Analytical, high attention to detail
• Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and handle multiple details and projects simultaneously
• Microsoft Office products proficiency
• Internet proficiency including social media
• Adobe Acrobat, Document Cloud, and Creative Cloud experience a plus
• Google Suite products, including Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Drive a plus

Other Requirements:
• Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends
• Some travel may be required, but minimal
• Kiwanis family experience a plus
• Multilingual (reading, writing or speaking skills) a plus
• Experience working in a non-profit or membership based organization a plus
• Knowledge of software such as The Raiser's Edge, GIFTS Online, or Personify a plus
