Responsible for developing and implementing the overall business marketing and communications plan, as well as a fund development plan for the organization. Key factors for success are increased customer attraction and engagement with our services and products, employee attraction, engagement, and awareness of agency services and products, and engagement and growth of donors, grant funders, and volunteers.

The CMDO must excel at relationship building, able to adapt his or her communication style to work effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties
• Provides strategic direction and consultation to the CEO, Senior Leadership, and Board of Directors on effective marketing, communication, fundrais and volunteer development.
• Set the vision for how to align market research, content design, and targeted communications which support the Agency's strategic direction, deliver on the Mission and brand promise, and meet changing customer and community needs.
• Develop and implement strategies that secure ongoing significant sources of private, preferably unrestricted funds, to support the organization as well as execute innovative ways of generating grant support from foundations, corporations, non-governmental agencies and other sources.
• Plan and execute innovative ways of utilizing volunteers to increase organizational capacity and add value through its programs, services, and business functions.
• Champion internal and external marketing activities that help enhance a customer-centric and collaborative culture across Pathfinder Services.
• Create and implement internal marketing strategies that fosters an environment that deeply understands and supports Pathfinder Services Vision, Mission, and Service Values and skillfully interpret the Vision and Mission to the organization's diverse constituents.
• Develop and maintain the Pathfinder Resource Development Plan, Case for Support and CRM (Bloomerang).
• Develop measurable objectives aligned to the Corporate Strategic Plan and the Resource Development Plan and routinely evaluate execution and performance to the plan.
• Grow the organizational capability in utilization of marketing data and analytics to ensure maximum optimization of tactical initiatives, to identify trends and to inform strategy.
• Lead progressive marketing strategies and tactics as well as technologies and tools for increasing customer, employee, and stakeholder engagement, producing robust analytics, evaluating product and marketing effectiveness and informing the strategic direction needed.
• Work with the Senior Leadership and Marketing Teams to develop digital capability and innovation across divisions to create market-leading tools, solutions and engagements to answer defined customer needs.
• Lead and coach marketing and development staff in setting clear goals and expectations and managing for performance excellence.  
• Develop and manage budgets in a fiscally responsible manner, ensuring maximized return for the organization.
• Develop, implement and modify systems and procedures for smooth service oriented and efficient operations of the department.
• Work with the Marketing Team to create greater media interest in the Agency and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
• Work with the Marketing Team to insure consistent adherence of all Agency print and electronic materials to the Branding Guidelines of the organization.
• Insure good coordination with outside marketing agencies and vendors to enhance overall results and lower costs.
             
Essential General Duties
 
A. Promotes mission of the agency.
B. Uses common sense judgment as it applies to moral, legal and ethical codes.  (Immoral or illegal acts as described by law will not be tolerated.)
C. Participates in staff development, in-service training and staff meetings as required.
D. Meets all aspects of the Employee Handbook and Policy Manual.
E. Performs all other duties as required.

Qualifications
 (The following statements represent the minimum education and experience standards which will be used to screen applicants, provided that equivalent substitutions will be permitted in case of deficiencies in either experience or education.)
 
Required:
A. Bachelor's Degree (Master's and/or CFRE preferred), in Marketing, Communications, Business, Not-for-Profit Administration or a related field.
B. Minimum of five years of management experience in positions of increasing responsibility related to business marketing and/or fund raising, or equivalent.
C. Proven ability to lead change, collaborate across disciplines and influence cross-functionally in a service-oriented environment.
D. Strategic and creative thinker who is comfortable and enjoys working with data.
E. Excellent project management skills including influencing, leading, negotiating and delegating.
F. Creative storyteller with exceptional writing skills.
G. Demonstrated ability to build, develop and foster productive relationships internally and externally.
H. Positive attitude and team player who welcomes collaborative decision making.
I. Proven team management skills and ability to develop colleagues.
J. Excellent presentation skills and ability to interact with high-level individuals and groups.
K. Experience working with external marketing and public relations firms.
L. Demonstrated up-to-date skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
M. Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
