The Phi Kappa Psi Foundation seeks a dynamic, energetic and experienced financial leader to join its executive team to build upon the organization's strong financial operations. The Controller is a critical and visible position requiring strong business (financial, operations), staff development and change management experience.

PHI KAPPA PSI: THE GREAT JOY OF SERVING OTHERS - Founded in 1852 and headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, Phi Kappa Psi is a men's fraternal organization consisting of over 100 chapters and colonies throughout the United States. With the open motto "the great joy of serving others" Phi Kappa Psi looks to engage men of integrity, further developing their intellect and enhancing their community involvement. With a legacy built on acceptance and trust, each brother realizes his highest potential through a lifelong experience of service and excellence. The charitable arm of Phi Kappa Psi, the Phi Kappa Psi Foundation was established in 1914 to foster the development of leaders and promote academic excellence in higher education. Today, the Foundation raises, invests and grants funds for a variety of programs and services that directly impact Phi Psi members, chapters, campuses and communities. The development of young men is central to the Foundation's mission.

Position Duties
• Oversees cash flow planning and forecasting.
• Directs and coordinates preparation and monitoring of revenue and expense budgets.
• Prepares timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
• Ensures proper maintenance of all accounting systems and transaction processing functions.
• Coordinates annual financial audits and proper filing of nonprofit tax returns.
• Oversees the organization's banking relationships.
• Participates in policy development as a member of the executive team.
• Manages the organization's human resources function including payroll and benefits administration.
• Oversees administration and financial reporting of the organization's retirement plan.
• Manages the organization's loan portfolio.
• Oversees the organization's business insurance plans.
• Maintains the inventory of all fixed assets.
• Attends Board of Trustee and committee meetings, as appropriate, including serving as lead staff on the Audit and Finance Committees.

Position Qualifications
Successful candidates should have a bachelor's degree and experience in strategic financial planning, profitability planning and quality management in a nonprofit organization. The position requires someone with demonstrated ability to think strategically in seizing opportunities, accessing risks, streamlining processes and procedures, and reducing expenses. It is also essential that the candidate be experienced in the modern implementation of financial systems and operations and understands the importance of finance in supporting organizational and donor-driven strategies and decisions. Ideal candidates will be comfortable in a team-oriented, metrics-based environment and bring energy and enthusiasm in their daily work inspiring others about the mission and goals of Phi Kappa Psi. 
• Degree in accounting, finance or related major required.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Aptitude for the management and effective use of information and accounting systems in support of a development program.
• Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statement and projections.
• Must possess excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Initiative and independence in carrying out responsibilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands.
• Strong self-motivation and the ability to work as a team member.
• Experience with a non-profit organization desirable.
