The Advancement Manager is responsible for advancing the organization in the areas of fundraising, communications, marketing, and community relations.

Primary Responsibilities
• Work with the Advancement Committee of the Board in analyzing the fundraising programs and in planning for future activities. Namely, to develop a modern and integrated communications/fundraising strategy.
• Identify new, and maintain current, funding opportunities and donor relationships as they pertain to the mission of Partners In Housing.
• Administer and oversee all grant applications and perform responsible professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing, and responding to public and private grant opportunities.
• Prepare all content and materials needed for approved fundraising and public relations programs, including proposals to donors and donor prospects, gift recognition and acknowledgement materials, appeal letters, etc.
• Prepare all content and materials needed for communications and donor relations (i.e., annual report, brochures, newsletters, website, etc.)
• Prepare detailed plans of actions for all approved fundraising and community relations programs, including budgets, to support their implementation.
• Develop and implement plans, strategies, and techniques to enhance the visibility of Partners in Housing in the community and with donors.
• Work with staff and the Board to ensure that all fundraising and community relations programs are consistent with the overall mission of Partners In Housing.
• Coordinate all special events by soliciting sponsorships, leading a committee of community volunteers, coordinating all vendors and volunteers, and directing related publicity. 
• Maintain donor database and oversee cash and in-kind gifts receipt and acknowledgment.
• Lead and organize all activities of the Auxiliary Board, including finding new members, and keeping current members engaged in work that advances the mission of PIH.
• Oversee volunteer program and coordinate volunteer opportunities with appropriate staff.
• Identify and tell the success stories of residents.
• Source, price, and order promotional materials on behalf of the entire agency.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
• Support and demonstrate through actions the mission, vision, and values of Partners In Housing.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in fundraising and communications.
• Experience writing grant proposals and maintaining compliance with federal grants.
• Demonstrated strong oral/written communication skills and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Competencies
• To have an understanding, appreciation and commitment to the mission and philosophy of Partners In Housing.
• Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Utilize basic math and analytical skills.
• Utilize basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with donor database software (Bloomerang preferable).
• Understanding of, and skill in using, the social media.
• Demonstrated initiative and judgment and demonstrated ability to perform independently.
• Understanding of low-income and homeless individuals and their specific needs.
• Practice time management skills.
