PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Director of Advancement is responsible for the strategic direction of TechPoint Foundation for Youth's (TPF4Y) fundraising efforts including major gifts, planned giving, and future endowment and capital campaigns. The Director of Advancement will work closely with the Executive Director, the Director Operations & Communications (Ops Director), and the TPF4Y Board of Directors to establish and successfully achieve the organization's fundraising goals. 

JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following functions have been determined by the Foundation to be essential to the successful performance of this position including, but not limited to:
1. Providing strategic staff support to the Asset Development Committee of the Foundation's Board of Directors to ensure the successful planning and evaluation of fundraising programs and activities.
 a. Leads the committee in setting and executing fundraising activities to achieve the financial goals and objectives outlined in the strategic plan and organizational budgets.
 b. Informs, supports and, when necessary, trains the Board of Directors to ensure successful completion of fundraising goals.
 c. Supports and manages the work of volunteers within the Asset Development Committee alongside the Committee Chair.
 d. Organizes socials, retreats, and recognition opportunities for committee volunteers and Board members.
 e. Works to ensure the committee is functioning ethically and within the stated bylaws of the Foundation.

2. Leading external donor services alongside Executive Director.
 a. Creates and supports the implementation of the annual fundraising plan, including formal evaluation, statistical tracking, and data collection.
 b. Leads the creation and implementation of the major gifts fundraising plan, including formal evaluation, statistical tracking, and data collection.
 c. Develops and implements identification, cultivation, and stewardship plans for key organizational stakeholders including individuals, major gifts, foundations, and corporations.
 d. Works with the Ops Director to ensure a comprehensive stewardship process is in place to advance gift-making.
 e. Leads the the gift solicitation plan and participates in the solicitation when appropriate.
 f. Develops and manages the corporate sponsorship program with great attention.
 g. Coordinates the gift fulfillment and acknowledgement processes in accordance with the fundraising plan and utilizing the Foundation's CRM tool, Bloomerang, while ensuring data integrity.
 h. Identifies and makes recommendations for appropriate fundraising systems and tools that enhance fundraising capabilities and performance. 

3. Establishing profitable friendraising and fundraising events for the Foundation with the support of the Ops Director.
 a. Defines the profitability targets and prioritization of TPF4Y fundraising events to ensure they meet objectives as approved by Executive Director.
 b. Directs all external donor services related to the successful implementation of events.
 c. Tracks key event related data to ensure appropriate use of Foundation resources and reports findings to Executive Director while ensuring data integrity.

4. Developing relationships with major donors and corporate partners key to the advancement of the Foundation and our role as a leader in STEM education.
 a. Identifies, secures, and maintains relationships with major donors and key corporate partners.
 b. Establishes the Foundation's planned giving and non-cash giving programs to ensure the organization's longevity.
 c. Serves on task forces, committees, and boards when appropriate as a representative of the Foundation.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:  The following are the qualifications and minimum requirements necessary for a person to perform this job:
1. Passionate about the mission and vision of the Foundation
2. Possess the skills and ability to motivate staff, board members, and other volunteers to engage in the fundraising process
3. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
4. Minimum of 3 years prior experience in nonprofit fundraising including proven success with annual funds, major gift programs, and event planning
5. Previous experience working with a board of directors preferred
6. Track record of success in developing and growing a planned giving and non-cash giving program
7. Understanding and adherence to high standards of ethics and confidentiality
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write clearly with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation
9. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with others in a professional and appropriate manner, including the ability to discuss multiple concepts with others
10. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and work independently with little to no supervision
11. Excellent organizational and workload prioritization skills
12. Excellent conceptual and analytical skills; ability to research and analyze data and information
13. Working knowledge of general office equipment, proficiency with MS Office and Google Drive products preferred
14. Familiarity with customer relationship management tools preferred
15. Ability to organize, facilitate, and manage projects and meetings in an efficient and effective manner
16. Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary
17. Ability to travel statewide and attend off-premise events
18. Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
