The Director of Marketing is the head of the Butler Arts Center Marketing Department and oversees the marketing, communications, and outreach for events in the Butler Arts Center venues.  This includes events presented by the Butler Arts Center and the Jordan College of the Arts; as well as, campus partners and their associated series as they take place in a campus venue.

The Director of Marketing will work closely with University Marketing to ensure consistent branding and messaging, in addition to overseeing the BAC marketing department which consists of a FT Sr. Marketing Manager and a FT Community Engagement Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:
Responsibilities Associated with this position include, but are not limited to:
• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, including both digital and traditional platforms, for specific venues and their ongoing calendar of events
• Develop and execute marketing campaigns for Butler Arts Presents, JCA events, and relevant campus series
• Develop and maintain outreach opportunities, collaborations and relationships with campus, show promoters, and external partners
• Oversee advertising campaigns with various media/social media outlets
• Working with the University's Marketing and Communications team, oversee creative production of graphic, video, and audio promotional materials
• Oversee communications and media relations including press releases and advisories, story pitching, and interview coordination in partnership with University's Marketing and Communications team.
• Oversee and develop event enhancements and ancillary events for customer experience
• Oversee communication tools such as BAC website and social media in partnership with University's Marketing and Communications team.
• Manage various event and venue budgets related to marketing expenses as well as documentation for event settlements
• Develop departmental guidelines and best practices
• Assist with event management and settlements as needed
• Oversee brand management in cooperation with Butler University marketing standards
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
• BA in Marketing, Communications, or commensurate professional experience
• 5+ years of experience in Events and Performance Marketing
• Experience and knowledge of theatre, music, and live entertainment
• Excellent organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time and priority management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google products
• Flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and sit for long periods
