As a member of the Advancement Services Team, the Associate Director for Data Management and Donor Research has continuing responsibility for providing oversight, planning, and expertise in Advancement's information systems in support of philanthropic development, engagement, records management, data integrity, analysis and reporting. The position will also support advancement through providing donor analytics and donor research.
Prepares fundraising and engagement reports based on industry standards, best practices and internal policies ensuring timeliness, accuracy and integrity. Creates and manages templates and queries in PeopleSoft BI Publisher to send customized donor correspondence. Collaborates with Advancement leadership on decision making and establishing policies and procedures that impact data, reporting and systems. Develops and communicates standard procedures and policies for collecting and entering information and producing reports. Monitors the contents of the database and its use by institutional personnel. Assess needs for maintenance programs and implements as needed to ensure efficient use of the database and human resources. Coordinates the evaluation and business case for purchase or in-house development of potential third party systems used by Advancement departments. Gathers sensitive and non-sensitive data from in-house and campus sources as well as private, public, government, and other external sources. Manages donor analytics and prospect screenings with research vendor(s) as a way to identify and qualify potential donors. Serves on the PeopleSoft Functional Leads Teams, representing needs and interests of the Advancement area.
Successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree, Database Information Services Management preferred. Seeking candidate with 3-5 years experience. Successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of a wide range of principles, technical methods and practices of automated data processing and other information management systems in general and with specific application to fund raising. Experience with PeopleSoft desirable. Oral and written communication skills to present policies, procedures, training, reports and other information; initiative and judgement in defining the projects and work to be accomplished, setting deadlines, resolving conflicts by determining approaches to take and methodology to be used to complete assignment; ability to manage critical and sensitive information; work effectively (formally and informally) in a team oriented environment. Must meet university life style expectations.
