The Edna Martin Christian Center, as sub-grantee of the United Way of Central Indiana's Great Families 2020 initiative, seeks to hire a part time Family Support Coach (Case Manager).

Background:
Great Families 2020 is a five-year initiative to improve family stability for vulnerable children and their parents living in five neighborhoods in Indianapolis.  Great Families 2020 is modeled from the promising practice of the "Two Generation" approach, where neighborhood networks in education, workforce development, financial support and health services are integrated to serve the whole family.  This is a federally funded effort by the Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS) through the Social Innovation Fund (SIF). United Way (Federal Award Number: 16SIHIN001 and CFDA No: 94.019) received a sub-award of $7 million to implement the initiative by contracting with local not-for-profit entities.  More information regarding Great Families 2020 can be found on the United Way of Central Indiana website: http://www.uwci.org/great-families-2020.

EMCC seeks to address the economic differences affecting the Martindale-Brightwood community. The Family Support Coach attempts to address the fragmented structure of the social services industry by taking a holistic, 2 generation approach. This approach is paramount to EMCC's existing wrap-around services provided to individuals and their families. Efforts are documented to educational, financial and employment outcomes. The Family Support Coach provide alternative life strategies by preparing for success through employment, financial management, health, and education.

Job Requirements
The Family Support Coach will work with the Community Solutions team to ensure each Great Families 2020 participants are receiving assistance across all major service areas. All families will be enrolled in Great Families 2020 based upon the eligibility requirements required by United Way of Central Indiana.
• Coach participants to act on and achieve their long term educational, financial and employment goals in life.
• Conduct one-on-one follow up with participants to continually monitor participants' efforts and measure progress.
• Create and manage participant database and files.
• Assist with crisis needs and access internal and external resources to eliminate or minimize barriers as needed.
• Evaluate needs assessments and identify services needed by participants and their families.
• Empower and encourage students to fully participate in program activities.
• Monitor families Great Families 2020 eligibility to ensure initiative compliance
• Provide participants assistance in goals pertaining to education, employment and financial goals using the Center for Working Families (CWF) model.
• Be proficient in other programs and services offered by EMCC and community, such as income supports, childcare services and connect the individuals to these other services.
• Ensure enrollment and development screening tools are completed in accordance to timeframe of Great Families 2020 and internal processes.
• Work in collaboration with Community Solutions team and community partners and effectively communicate needs, successes and benchmarks of individual and family progression.
• Document participant outcomes and contacts through Efforts to Outcome (ETO), a client management system accurately and in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements
• A propensity to work with diverse populations. Previous work experience with the target population, and/or the ability to provide services in a culturally sensitive manner
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited institution required, experience in behavioral sciences is preferred.
• Previous work experience in the social services sector preferred
• Work experience with the Center for Working Families model preferred
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team as a cooperative and supportive team member
• Knowledge of education systems, community resources and the ability to build relationships
• Excellent written, verbal, communication and organizational skills
• Technologically savvy with solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases and the internet. Efforts to Outcome (ETO) experience a plus.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule beyond normal business hours.
• Willing to travel to community centers, childcares and other public venues at times that are convenient to individuals being served.
