Franklin College seeks to fill the Assistant Director of Alumni Communications and Events position. This is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving.
 
This position is responsible for executing a comprehensive alumni engagement program that fosters networking opportunities, professional development and social interaction following the tradition and mission of the institution. The Assistant Director develops and maintains meaningful contacts with alumni and friends via targeted modes of communications and outreach:  social media, e-mail, meetings, special events and volunteer opportunities with the end goal of strategically connecting them to giving annually and long-term. Located approximately 30 minutes from culturally rich downtown Indianapolis, Franklin College is a private, four-year liberal arts and sciences college.  
 
The Assistant Director of Alumni Communications and Events project manage all alumni engagement events which may include Homecoming and reunion events, regional and Presidential events, teacher appreciation events, corporate partner luncheons, young alumni events, student/alumni networking events, career networking events, social and athletic events, Commencement, etc. The Assistant Director will coordinate alumni engagement events, participate in strategic planning, and manage all social media platforms. The Assistant Director will also support the Vice President for Development and Alumni Engagement in some administrative duties, including travel, calendaring, and credit card processing. Serve as "face" of the Division by greeting visitors, answering phones, and ordering supplies.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of progressive experience in alumni relations and higher education. Ability to think strategically and analytically. Have excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, and exceptional organizational skills.  Must be able to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and goals. Demonstrated proficiency in managing social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn); experience leveraging social media management and analytical tools with platforms such as Hootsuite. Must be able to travel and work evenings and weekends as warranted.
