As the Johnson County Autism Support Group continues to expand its resources and programming to best serve our community, we are excited to be adding a part-time, paid Executive Director position to our organization. If you are passionate about helping individuals with special needs, enjoy planning and leading events, have marketing or fund raising experience and are interested in a part time position, this could be a great opportunity for you.
The Executive Director of JCASG will provide professional leadership to the board of directors to accomplish the objectives of the Group. Major responsibilities for the position include fundraising, marketing, event planning, maintaining effective communication with the board and committees, and facilitating the establishment of short- and long-term goals and priorities for the Group.
Develop partnerships with individuals, families, community groups, local businesses, and service providers to enhance opportunities for individuals with autism in the Johnson County area; Work with the Board of Directors in order to enhance the quality of opportunities offered by JCASG; Garner new opportunities, promote stronger branding, and cultivate relationships with potential donors; Actively engage and energize volunteers, board members, event committees, partnering organizations, and donors.
Development and Public Relations
o Cultivate knowledge of potential sources of donations, recommend approaches to obtain them, and follow up with execution of adopted plans
o Cultivate and build relationships with existing donors, stakeholders and others with ties to the Foundation
o Develop and execute marketing plans to grow the Foundation
o Maintain knowledge of changes in laws and regulations which have an impact on charitable giving
o Serve as the face of the Foundation to the community
o Develop and carry out public relations and marketing programs to enhance the image and awareness of the Foundation
Board and Committee Relations
o Implement policies established by the Board
o Assist Board in the development of goals and long-range plans
o Coordinate work of Board Committees
o Function as volunteer resource for the Board and Committees, providing adequate information for well-informed decision making, and providing sound recommendations
o Work with the Board President to prepare Board meeting agendas and facilitate Board meetings
o Recruit, select, supervise and develop volunteers and staff if needed to accomplish the objectives of the Foundation
o Help develop and oversee operating budget of Foundation; oversee development of budget projections
o Ensure that satisfactory stewardship of Foundation assets is being provided
o Ensure Foundation governance policies and practices are kept current
o Oversee fund and grant/program management
o Oversee donor relations including donor-advised funds in cooperation with the Board
o Maintain awareness of community needs and interests as they relate to Group goals.
