Oversee and lead the receiving and perishable storage team employees in day-to-day food handling and warehouse activities. Plan, organize, and complete receiving and storage of items into the warehouse. Ensure the orderly receipt of food, accurate record-keeping, maintenance of good relationships with internal/external customers, and a positive and safe work environment. Position Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
• Supervise the receiving, cooler and perishable storage processes.
 o Schedule all incoming freight appointments and maintain and update the daily dock schedule.
 o Ensure appropriate paperwork (BOL, PO, etc.) accompany all freight receipts.
 o Ensures all receipts are appropriately counted and inspected upon receipt and accurately recorded of into the warehousing system, while communicating information on receipts to others as appropriate.
 o Ensure incoming product is labeled with the appropriate allergen label, if applicable. Storage in warehouse must be "like over like" to avoid contamination issues.
 o Ensure all product is available to be distributed in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
 o Develop and maintain written Standard Operating Procedures as needed
 o Drive process improvement efforts in receiving.
• Develops and operates an effective inventory control program.
 o Monitors the flow of paperwork from Receiving to Inventory Control for timely data entry.
 o Ensure that complete and accurate records are maintained of products received, including donated food and food from government programs.
 o Verify accuracy of receiving activities as needed through physical inventories and/or cycle counting.
 o Implement additional inventory control measures as necessary and appropriate.
 o Resolves discrepancies with inventory department.
 o Attention to detail, inquisitive interest to understand all aspects of inventory, and integration of the whole warehouse processes.
• Ensure compliance and adherence to GFB, Feeding America, AIB, USDA, ISDH and any other applicable processes or regulations for safe and sanitary storage of all products. 
• Promote and ensure a safe work environment.
• Personnel management
 o Assign workloads and ensure performance of jobs by providing supervision, regular feedback, open communication, coaching, training, evaluation, discipline and accountability to staff.
 o Manage attendance and timesheets for employees and temporary staff.
 o Motivate staff to be an effective part of the Gleaners team working together to achieve the organization's goals.
 o Promote and achieve a positive work environment.
• Administrative and budgetary responsibilities
 o Ensure that all work is performed to a cost-effective, high standard.
 o Maintain the required paperwork and assist with annual budgets and reports as needed.
 o Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities an individual needs in order to perform this job successfully.
Education and/or Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Previous experience and/or training in supervision or team lead level 
• Knowledge and experience performing warehouse functions (safety procedures, product receipt, put-away, replenishment, inventory, order-fulfillment and shipment, etc.)
 
Language Skills:
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, written communication and presentation skills 
 
Mathematical/Reasoning Skills:
• Ability to perform basic math functions, to count accurately and maintain accurate records.
• Distinguish between case and pallet counts versus pallet weights as required, understand pallet numbers, inventory lots, and warehouse locations.
 
Technical/Computer Skills:
• Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with manual and electronic warehouse documentation tools including barcode hardware
• ERP (Warehouse/Inventory Management System)
• Ability to create, analyze and present reports
• Computer, copier, fax machine, telephone
 
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
• Valid driver's license/Clean driving record /Must be insurable by company vehicle insurance provider
 
Other Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrate strong leadership, supervision, organization and interpersonal communication skills.
• People skills to interact with food donors and other members of the management team.
• Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced, deadline-oriented and multi-tasking environment. 
• Ability to execute instructions with exacting (100% compliance) attention to detail.
• Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
