This position performs a variety of specialized, technical, and clerical accounting and bookkeeping functions. Responsibilities include accounts receivable, accounts payable and miscellaneous projects. All responsibilities shall be consistent with Gleaners Food Bank's mission to end hunger.

Essential Functions: 
• Accounts Receivable Process
 o Post payments received from Agencies
 o Research & answer any questions from Agencies about their account 
 o Review AR aging report- apply open credits to invoices, make a list of Agencies with a balance due over 90 days and recommend actions to Accounting/HR Manager
 o Enter pantry partner/program credits
 o Print agency statements
 o Scan checks into bank
 o Maintain filing
 o Upload monthly donations from E-Tapestry
• Accounts Payable
 o Enter accounts payable invoices & expense reports
 o Print checks, assemble checks with invoices, get checks signed and mailed, maintain filing
 o Research & answer any questions from vendors or colleagues about invoices
 o Create new vendors
 o Submit 1099
 o Assist Accounting/HR Manger with tracking and analyzing specific expense accounts
• Provide support to Finance/HR Team
 o Assist Accounting/HR Manager with month end closing task

Other Functions:
• Participates in department meetings, all-staff meetings, fundraising events and others as directed.
• Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
• All other duties as required.
 
Skills/Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities an individual needs in order to perform this job successfully.

Education and/or Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with financial reporting/bookkeeping.
• Knowledge of fund-raising concepts and techniques. 
   
Language Skills:
• Exhibit outstanding interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation communications skills.
• Ability to professionally communicate with all volunteers, donors, corporate contacts and staff members. 
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  
 
Mathematical/Reasoning Skills:
• Capacity to think strategically, as well as creatively
• Superior problem resolution and analytical skills
• Ability to perform basic math functions and calculate figures and amounts.
 
Technical/Computer Skills:
• Experience in working in CRM, financial systems, and/or other database systems, including input and reporting. 
• Computer literate in all basic computer programs and functions.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
• Ability to work on a computer, copier, fax machine, telephone, calculator. 
 
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
• Valid driver's license/Clean driving record /Must be insurable by company vehicle insurance provider
 
Other Skills and Abilities:
• Detailed oriented and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well under deadline and to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
