The Diversity & Inclusion Program Manager develops, implements and monitors programs that promote diversity and inclusion within the agency. This role is responsible for developing training and initiatives to create and foster an open and inclusive environment. The diversity and inclusion manager will monitor industry trends and support and align talent management, workforce development and human resources. This position will report directly to the Deputy Commissioner of People Services.

A Day in the Life
Assesses diversity and inclusion development needs of the agency;
Supports business units and other stakeholders in creating and sustaining inclusive cultures and behaviors to drive business results and performance.
Assists with the development of policies and programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce for the organization.
Identify, build and maintain external community relationships with the purpose of promoting INDOT as a partner that supports diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Develop measures to optimize data to forecast diversity metrics, evaluations, and reporting on effectiveness of D&I initiatives on the business.
Monitor, research and advise on diversity & inclusion external topics and trends, and appropriately propose opportunities to improve diversity and inclusion in the agency.
Develop strategic D&I plans for each district and the agency
Work with the statewide SPD Diversity & Inclusion manager to ensure strategic goals and initiatives are being implemented at an agency level.
Performs related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, or related field and/or equivalent combination of experience.
Experience managing diversity programs and/or related HR and engagement experience
Strong Project Management skills
Exceptional knowledge of diversity concepts and programs.
Passion for and proven track record building innovative programs that attract diverse candidates and improve equity and inclusivity
Strong, compelling and clear verbal and written communication
Ability to formulate sound recommendations and make appropriate decisions with consideration of potential impact on agency/division/local office or facility/statewide;
Ability to effectively prioritize a variety of projects and functions;
Ability to research and document findings;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
Ability to formulate policy and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
