The Donor Relations and Events Coordinator will identify, cultivate and communicate with donors and raise money through special events, direct asks, and appeals. The Coordinator will work closely with the Vice President of Development to achieve the annual and long term fundraising goals in alignment with the strategic plan.
 
Reports to:  Vice President of Development

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns and events to meet and exceed the organization's fundraising goal. 
• Collaborate with the Vice President of Development to develop and coordinate special events including overseeing the outreach, logistics, and management of event committees. 
• Increase the funding base through identification, cultivation and solicitation of new donors and develop and execute a strategy to sustain and grow a portfolio of existing donors. 
• Develop and implement a stewardship program to cultivate deeper ties with donors.
• Assist the Grants and Communications Director with grant research and coordination, and communications.
• Research and coordinate cause related marketing opportunities.
• Provide support for the Development Committee of the Board of Directors.
• Oversee Share the Love volunteer engagement and fundraising event/process.
• Research, create, and manage donor profiles in our Salesforce database, identifying giving history, capacity, relevant personal information. 
• Maintain involvement with external organizations and professional groups that may provide continuing education and build long-term relationships with donors/supporters.
• Ensure regular, personalized, and timely communications with donors and prospects
 
  
Experience, education, degrees, and licenses 

Minimum requirements:  
• Bachelor Degree.   
• 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising and events coordination for a nonprofit. 
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal). 
 
 
Availability Requirements 
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week 
• Must be available to attend workshops, panels, conferences, etc. that potentially fall outside the regular work day. 
• Must be available for meetings and events presented on the calendar at the beginning of the year.  
 
Evaluation of Performance 
Performance will be evaluated based on meeting the requirements of the job description; meeting performance metrics and other quality indicators established for this position; working effectively in a team environment; and demonstrating the values of School on Wheels. New employees undergo an initial 90-day performance review.
