Indianapolis Theological Seminary has sought to "collaborate with local churches for biblical and theological training unto the glory of God" since 2015. With over 80 students, 16 board members, 17 supporting local churches, over 200 donors, and 7 employees (2 full-time, 5 part-time), the school is experiencing growth that requires focused attention on development and fundraising. The Director of Development will work closely with the President, the Advancement & Development Committee, and the Board of Directors in all development and fundraising endeavors. This includes planning, organizing, and directing all of the seminary's development activities: relationships management, major and recurring gifts program, annual funding targets, special events and capital campaigns.

•  Annually sign The ITS Statement of Common Beliefs
•  Currently serve as a member of a local church that either subscribes to one of the historic confessions of faith inside of which ITS teaches, or does not purposefully oppose the ITS Statement of Common Beliefs (and will join such a church if relocating)
•  Constantly represent the mission and values of ITS (especially as this is a very public-facing job)
•  Strong interpersonal and writing skills
•  Have the desire to get out of the office and build external relationships  Minimum undergraduate degree and experience in academic and/or nonprofit settings
•  Demonstrate organizational and leadership skills with competency in nonprofit fundraising planning and execution
•  Have knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques
•  Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members and others
•  Be a "self-starter" and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls
•  Be organized and timely, and exhibit "follow through" on tasks and goals
•  Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, selfconfidence, common sense and good listening abilities
•  At least 5 years of experience in professional fundraising desirable

•  Work closely with the ITS President and Board of Directors to reach annual fundraising goals
•  Work with the board to understand and employ their personal networks
•  Serve as a relationship manager for board members, donors, and prospects
•  Help donors accomplish their philanthropic goals through a relationship with Indianapolis Theological Seminary
•  Meet prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communications with them
•  Grow a major gifts program including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors
•  Coordinate grant-seeking including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements with the help of the Advancement & Development Committee
•  Build a planned giving program with a focus on deferred gifts such as bequest expectancies
•  Direct the annual fund program, including mailings and annual fundraising drives
•  Direct capital campaigns and other major fundraising drives
•  Coordinate fundraising special events
•  Oversee prospect research
•  Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements to share information about ITS with the community
•  Report on program progress to the President and the board
•  Staff Advancement & Development Committee meetings
•  Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects
•  Oversee creation of publications to support fundraising activities
•  Maintain gift recognition programs and long-term relationships with existing donors
•  Produce, analyze and distribute monthly contributions report
•  Generate new ideas that increase revenue and donor loyalty
•  Oversee the development budget and monitor expenses
•  Demonstrate professional conduct at all times
•  Perform other related duties as requested
