The Education and GSA Manager is responsible for the development and support of Education Programs and Genders and Sexualities Alliances (GSAs) throughout Indiana. 

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Education Coordination-
● Manage the IYG education program including tutoring hours
● Recruit and engage volunteers to help facilitate tutoring
● Help youth formulate education plans
● Connect youth with alternate education outlets as necessary
● Build relationships with educational organizations
● Develop a career readiness program
● Monthly reporting for grants
● Other duties as assigned

2. GSA Services-
● Facilitate the formation of new GSAs across Indiana
● Strengthen existing GSAs by providing capacity building to youth leadership and adult sponsors.
● Produce a GSA Leadership Summit for youth and adult sponsors and assist with an LGBTQ Youth Summit for youth, parents, and GSA sponsors
● Table IYG Info Booth at events to market IYG and disseminate information on new possibilities for local GSAs, community-based LGBTQ youth groups and resources
● Maintain a database to track community resources, contacts, and progress
● Visit each GSA at least once per school year
● Monthly reporting for grants
● Other duties as assigned

3. IYG Activity Center Responsibilities-
● Facilitate youth activities at the IYG activity center
● Help youth plan various events and activities
● Staff member of the activity center, closing some nights

Reporting Structure
The Education Outreach Coordinator reports directly to and is supervised by the Head of Programming.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in an education, child development, social work or related field such as youth services
• Two years or more previous experience as a presenter or group facilitator
• Three years or more of experience working with adolescents individually or in groups
• One year or more direct service work with youth
• Competency in LGBTQ terms and definitions and in regards to the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth
• Knowledge of local LGBTQ resources for youth and adults
• Previous experience working in a school setting is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft Suite including Excel and Word
• Strong skills in planning, delegation, critical thinking and organization
