Seeking a Human Resource Generalist who gets excited about making a difference in the lives of others. Our ideal candidate understands the true impact of Human Resources on the overall organization. As a true Generalist, you will provide support in multiple HR areas, including recruiting, new-employee orientation, training, leave coordination, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management and payroll processing.  This role requires a proactive, innovative, and flexible human resource generalist that serves as a resource for employees and management regarding HR-related functions and ensures compliance with employment laws, organization policies and procedures, and reporting requirements. This position will also provide administrative assistance in other areas such as office management and accounting. 

Position Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
• Provide guidance and direction to employees and managers regarding ongoing interpretation and tracking of HR policies and procedures that champions the company's vision, values and culture; Partner with management to communicate human resource policies.
• Facilitate the full cycle recruitment, interview and hiring process and paperwork, including new-hire orientation to ensure new employees are effectively introduced into the organization.
• Coordinate and manage internships, VISTA's, Teen Works and equivalent programs.
• Prepares all COBRA paperwork and ensures that the company stays compliant on all time frame deadlines.
• Support the CAO in leading, implementing and documenting the program to invest in every employee, including formal training.
      o Research, develop, coordinate, schedule and follow-up on employee learning and development.  This includes required safety training, management training as well as other types of employee training programs (conducting training presentations or web-based and offsite training for the organization available through partner organizations).
• Support and maintain time-keeping system and payroll-related activities.
• Prepares and processes all termination paperwork.
• Administer employee benefits and 403B enrollment and assist with renewal process.
• Assist with administering and tracking employee leaves (including FMLA, personal, disability, military, etc.).
• Assist with workers' compensation and accident program and claims.
• Assist with employee committees (safety, wellness, etc.).
• Perform customer services functions by answering employee requests and questions, including employment verifications.
• Coordinate employee communications and events such as newsletters, recognition, celebrations, wellness, safety and others.
• Administer programs to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction levels.
• Respond to employee-relations issues and provides counseling/coaching to managers and employees; Recommend effective solutions for addressing workplace concerns and escalate as applicable to Chief HR & Administrative Officer for further investigation.
• Assist with administering the performance management process; tracks and ensures all employees are reviewed at recommended intervals; makes recommendations for change and assists managers as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
• Researches and confirms requirements and prepares all required reporting to ensure compliance (e.g., EEO-1 reporting, OSHA 300 log, DOT, etc.).
• Maintain personnel files, including accurate, timely, and required documentation of activities to ensure quality employee records and metrics.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Ensure and maintain confidentiality regarding employee and company matters.
• Assists Chief HR & Administrative Officer with various research projects and/or special projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities an individual needs in order to perform this job successfully.

Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 1 + years of experience in a human resources role.
• Knowledge of employment-related and compliance legislation including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, ACA, and EEOC.
• Demonstrate experience in HR Generalist functions. Showing knowledge of principles, methods,
and practices related to human resource and payroll activities

Language Skills:
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, written communication and presentation skills.
• Multi-Lingual a plus.

Mathematical/Reasoning Skills:
• Strong math, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Technical/Computer Skills:
• Proficient in computer, copier, fax machine, telephone, and other office equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook/PowerPoint and Google Docs.
• Experience with payroll and timekeeping systems.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
• Valid driver's license/Clean driving record /Must be insurable by company vehicle insurance provider
