LeadingAge Indiana is an association that provides services to members that represent the continuum of long term care, services and housing for seniors in Indiana. INALA and IHPCO are associations managed by LeadingAge Indiana staff.

The Executive Director of the Indiana Assisted Living Association (INALA) and Indiana Hospice and Palliative Care Association (IHPCO) is a highly visible role which demands a desire to impact public policy, extensive internal and external customer service skills, a high level of professionalism, leadership and management. This position is responsible for managing two trade associations that contact with LeadingAge Indiana for management services. This individual works closely with the INALA and IHPCO Boards of directors and is responsible for their respective meetings. The ideal candidate must thrive in a challenging and fast paced atmosphere where prioritizing and multi-tasking are the norm. This position will report to the LeadingAge Indiana President/CEO and work in a team environment managing a vast array of daily office and project responsibilities.

Duties
• The Executive Director of Associations (EDA) staffs and works closely with the Board Chair of each association as follows, but not limited to; collaboration to establish Board and Executive Committee meeting agendas, Board member nominating process and new Director orientation, retreat planning and setting strategic goals.
• The EDA provides regular e-mail updates to the Board(s) regarding association activities and issues impacting or potentially impacting their respective members.
• The EDA is responsible for and implementing a marketing campaign to encourage new and maintain current memberships.
• Develops content for newsletters from a variety of state and national source for both Associations. Shares information via e-mail, website, social media, etc. 
• Ensures the website applications for both Associations are up-to-date and provides content, as needed.
• Identifies public policy issues that are likely to impact the Associations' members through discussions with members, Board collaboration, communication with other associations, legislators, and state officials, and other investigate avenues.
• The EDA will meet with legislators to discuss legislation, position on issues, to seek sponsorship and to share educational information and industry knowledge. They will also communicate with the Association(s) members regarding legislative activity and activate advocacy efforts to contact legislators about key issues, as needed.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key leaders in state government agencies such as; Medicaid, the Division of Aging, the Indiana State Department of Health, the Professional Licensing Agency, Indiana Attorney General's Office, the Governor's office, and more.
• The EDA manages the INALA Political Action Committee (INALA PAC) and serves as the PAC's Treasurer.
• Responsible for coordinating PAC solicitation campaign to encourage contributions by eligible members and develops a campaign contribution strategy for supporting elected officials who are supportive of the goals and objectives of the Association's members.
• The EDA assists to organize staff strategic planning around member educational needs through identification of topics and speakers of interest and works with the Events and Education Manager to develop programs and sessions for members.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred. Significant experience in long term care, association management, and lobbying.  Understanding of health care reimbursement and regulation.
•      Professional experience and certifications will be considered. 
•      Five or more years in management or operations role.
Other:
This position is part time consisting of approximately 3 days per week to INALA and 1 day per week to IHPCO. Some benefits are offered.
