Vincent Village has made significant leaps in our effort to end generational homelessness through creative fund-raising, multiple new partnerships and a focus on the development of affordable housing options. Non-profit neighborhood based social service agency with an annual budget of 1.3 million.   
 
History
Vincent Village opened as the Vincent House Transitional Shelter on December 18, 1989 and immediately began serving the needs of homeless families with children.  Since that time, Vincent House has developed additional programs to meet the needs of homeless families. The neighborhood surrounding Vincent House underwent significant disinvestment in housing and Vincent House began rehabilitating homes in the immediate neighborhood in 1996. A by-product of Vincent House's efforts to provide post-transitional affordable rental housing has been the transformation of the neighborhood surrounding the original shelter. Vincent House purchased and renovated 32 vacant and abandoned single-family homes in this neighborhood. These homes, occupied by "graduates" of the Vincent House Transitional Shelter Program and other area shelters, make up a friendly, supportive neighborhood community. To more accurately reflect this expanded role in affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization, Vincent House, Inc. changed its name to Vincent Village, Inc. in 2008 and is coming up on its 30 year reunion!
 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
 
• The Executive Director is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and managing the daily operation of VINCENT VILLAGE and developing and maintaining financial resources for ongoing financial support.
 
• Meet or exceed goals through the cultivation of relationships.
 
• Represent the organization publically, articulates the work of VINCENT VILLAGE, and creates opportunities for thoughtful engagement.
• Familiarize staff and volunteers with the purpose, philosophy, programs and services and provide updates to staff and volunteers on a regular basis. Conduct regular staff meetings.
                       
• Provide regular reports regarding the finances and administration of VINCENT VILLAGE to the Board of Directors and attend Board of Director meetings as a non-voting member.
 
• Maintain a consistently high standard of service for program participants through effective daily operations and in accordance with funding guidelines and supportive services in the community.
 
• Oversee planning and development of all program components. 
 
• Oversee general facility maintenance of all Vincent Village properties; manage renovations, general housekeeping and repairs for buildings, equipment and appliances.
 
• Prepare annual budget for review and approval by the finance committee of the Board of Directors and administer annual budget approved by Board of Directors.
 
• Develop and implement a fund raising strategy. Develop and submit funding proposals to foundations, public and private agencies and other financial resources.
 
• Develop and maintain a good rapport with local Human Service agencies to provide service linkages for VINCENT VILLAGE residents.
                         
• Recruit, schedule, supervise and coordinate staff & volunteers.
• Manage and oversee all financial resources of VINCENT VILLAGE to receive and deposit funds, maintain adequate financial records and reports for the Board of Directors and funding sources.              
 
• Participate in community boards/committees/organizations to enhance community networking and collaborative efforts to maximize effectiveness and strengthen community relations.
 
• Communicates and interacts effectively with people from other cultures, religions, geographies and organizations; respects and adapts to other cultures and seeks opportunities to listen and learn.
 
Qualifications

• A bachelors' degree is required, a masters' degree is strongly preferred.
 
• At least 3-5 years of fundraising experience, including grant proposals.
 
• Understanding of or willingness to learn about public policy and public funding.
 
• Minimum 2 years administrative and managerial experience in similar facility or related organization.
 
• Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, organize, supervise, manage and evaluate staff and volunteers in a similar facility or related organization.
 
• Demonstrated ability to provide sound fiscal management. 
 
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and work with a wide range of volunteer organizations.
 
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in crisis situations and to serve as an example of maturity and good judgment to staff,  volunteers and residents.
 
• Technical skills using Microsoft Office Suite, familiar with Social Media
