The Advancement Coordinator will manage media relations, create social media and website content, design marketing materials, manage the donor database and donor stewardship processes.

HVAF is working to end homelessness among veterans. Through a unique partnership with U.S. Department of Veteran's Affairs and many community organizations, we provide housing and re-integration services for homeless veterans and programs to prevent at-risk veterans from becoming homeless.

Duties and Responsibilities
a.       Manages all media relations and serves as primary point of contact for media outlets.
b.      Creates and manages content (including videos) for monthly e-newsletter, daily social media posts, blog.
c.       Serves as admin for HVAF website and social media outlets.
d.      Identifies new opportunities for increasing HVAF's online presence
e.      Designs marketing materials including annual reports, brochures, event fliers, and other resources as needed.
f.        Manages the donor database and all donor stewardship policies and processes.
g.       Assists with donor campaigns, fundraisers, special events, and represents HVAF at community events.
h.      Assists with grant preparation including compiling reports and conducting research.
i.         Provides administrative support to the Advancement Team.

Education/Experience/Skills Required
a. Bachelor's degree in related field (nonprofit management, philanthropy, marketing, communications, journalism, etc.)
b. Demonstrated understanding of marketing and fundraising principles.
c. Experience with donor management databases (such as Bloomerang, eTapestry, DonorPerfect) preferred.
d. Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
e. Experience in graphic design (InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe, etc), required.
f. Experience in web editing, required.
g. Experience in video editing, preferred.
h. Strong attention to detail.
i. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and set goals in a deadline-oriented environment.
j. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with donors, media, clients, and senior level staff.
k. Military experience or close ties to military is a plus.
