  • Full Time

The Arc of Indiana Foundation is a state-wide, not-for-profit association that advocates for people with developmental disabilities and their families.

The Director of Major and Gifts will report to the Executive Director of The Arc of Indiana Foundation and will be responsible for helping the Foundation reach its fundraising goals by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts. This individual will manage a portfolio of prospects and donors by designing and developing solicitation strategies, identifying gift opportunities that match donor interests, and personally soliciting gifts and continually stewarding major gift donors.

Organization Description:

The Arc of Indiana Foundation utilizes the Erskine Green Training Institute (EGTI) to accomplish its goal of providing post-secondary training and education opportunities for people with disabilities. Ultimately, the Foundation's goal is to create an environment in the state of Indiana in which people with disabilities have various opportunities to work in the communities in which they live.

EGTI's programming is designed for individuals whose academic, social, communication, and adaptive skills are affected due to a disability. Most applicants would have received special education services in the K-12 setting and exited their secondary school with a diploma, GED, or certificate of completion.

Upon completion of the program, students leave with a certificate, resume, practiced interview skills and a list of open positions in the community they are returning to after graduation. More importantly, they leave connected to the EGTI team and other resources, including an alumni group, for ongoing support and information.

EGTI is enjoying tremendous success. Every aspect of the program is designed to promote not only employment skills but also increased self-esteem and confidence. Over 80% of EGTI graduates have secured employment in communities throughout Indiana.

Our outcomes have been fantastic, and the success of our graduates has impressed stakeholders across the state. No other program is having the impact on employment that EGTI has had after only 4 years in operation. Organizations and individuals from all over the country have expressed interest in replicating what we have done and we are looking forward to continuing providing amazing opportunities for people with disabilities in this state and beyond.
