The Edna Martin Christian Center seeks to hire a Data Specialist, who will lead efforts to collect, organize, scrub, validate, and otherwise prepare large data sets for the agency. The Data Specialist will update and maintain a complex database of confidential information to ensure current and accurate information using systems such as Efforts to Outcomes (ETO), SalesForce, or other databases.
 
Responsibilities
Specifically, the Data Specialist will:
● Uphold data sharing agreements across collaborative agencies and/or funder designated management/evaluation teams;
● Interact with external partners to respond to data requests and other analytic needs;
● Maintain confidentiality of all data and secure/protect source data;
● Upload/enter data into ETO and CRM databases;
● Analyze and interpret results using standard statistical tools and techniques;
● Pinpoint trends, correlations and patterns in data sets;
● Identify new opportunities for process improvement;
● Create customized performance reports that aggregate results for management and local funders;
● Design comprehensive data reports and other agency tools to assist agency managers and executives in making good agency decisions;
● Present research results both in written and verbal communications;
● Help train internal and external partners on data-entry and data integrity;
● Work with select community partners in the Data Integration initiative
Document structure of agency data which serves as a guide in execution of tasks;
● Evaluate agency data to identify their different characteristics and locate their similarities to find ways they can be integrated for better results;
● Arrange anomalies of consumption and identify errors in data and take measures to resolve them;
● Manage other data needs for the organization. All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred. Experience in using relational databases, preferably eTapestry or similar CRM database, and Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database. Must possess a high level of computer proficiency and knowledge of various computer and database software, with particular skill in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint. SQL language desirable. Excellent analytical skills - define problems, research and collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
