The Campaign Manager provides leadership and project management for all aspects of Newfields: The Campaign. Now in the Lead Gift phase, the campaign was launched to fund a selection of exciting Master Plan projects, as well as key endowment funds.
A vital role on the Advancement team, the Campaign Manager oversees the mechanics of the campaign to allow the Deputy Director for Institutional Advancement and other Philanthropy Officers to maximize time in campaign prospect contact. This position also works to ensure Philanthropy Officers have the tools needed to be successful in campaign solicitations.
The Campaign Manager works closely with several members of the Advancement team to ensure that processes for prospect management, proposal development, gift documentation, donor stewardship, campaign communications, and event planning are moving forward. This position also designs, tracks, and monitors the effectiveness of campaign strategies; helps to develop strategy and content for Campaign Cabinet meetings; plays a key role in in developing and implementing campaign communications strategies; develops and manages the campaign budget; and maintains accurate reports on campaign solicitations and overall progress. 
In addition his or her role within the Advancement team, the Campaign Manager works with colleagues throughout Newfields, including regular interaction with Senior Leaders, to refine campaign priorities and support the development of specific gift opportunities and proposals., The Campaign Manager also engages and supports the Campaign Cabinet and Newfields Board of Trustees and Board of Governors, facilitating effective volunteer participation in campaign prospect cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

Primary Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities describe the general nature of work for employees in this position, but this is not intended as an exclusive or all - inclusive inventory.
• Oversee all functions of the campaign and serve as primary project manager for all campaign-related activities. Maintain campaign timeline and track milestones.
• Work with Campaign Cabinet and Advancement team to develop and track donor strategies including communications, cultivation, and solicitation plans. This includes documenting follow-up steps and sending reminders for action.
• Develop storytelling documents and related solicitation materials for campaign priorities.
• Draft proposals, cover letters, and other donor correspondence to facilitate campaign gifts. 
• With the Deputy Director of Institutional Advancement, manage Campaign Cabinet meetings, from high-level strategy to administrative details including scheduling, meeting material preparation, and meeting minutes. 
• Prepare high-level presentations related to the campaign for the Deputy Director of Institutional Advancement, Campaign Cabinet leadership and other Newfields leadership as needed.
• Work with Advancement Services Manager to develop and improve campaign reporting and portfolio management systems.
• Work with Manager of Member and Donor Experience to design and execute campaign events.
• Work with Philanthropy Coordinator, Administrative Coordinator for Advancement, Donor, and Campaign Relations and Database Coordinator to ensure gift documentation and stewardship activities are completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Prepare and update campaign budget, working with colleagues in Advancement and Finance
Required Skills:
• Oral and Written Communication Skills o Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to communicate professionally and diplomatically with a diverse group of staff, donors, and board members. Strong analytical skills and persuasive writing skills required. Must demonstrate initiative and follow-through. Must be able to work effectively across multiple departments and at all levels of the organization. Ability to think creatively and develop effective solicitation materials and correspondence required.
• Mathematical Skills o Ability to calculate mathematical figures and ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to analysis membership statistics.
• Other Skills and Abilities o Excellent project management skills are required along with skills in delegation, organization, data analysis, and customer service.  A high level of attention to detail is required.
Education and/or Experience:
• Undergraduate degree required.
• Minimum 5 years fundraising database experience required.
• Experience with Raiser's Edge, project management, donor relations, and strategic communications strongly experience preferred.
