The Media Relations and Communications Specialist is an incredible opportunity for a seasoned professional to serve in a mission-driven organization.  This individual will be the primary voice of the Indiana Donor Network brand, as spokesperson, on-camera narrator, and author of publications and initiatives.

Organization Overview
Indiana Donor Network is the non-profit health service dedicated to advancing organ, tissue, and eye donation and transplantation throughout Indiana.  Indiana Donor Network, one of 58 designated organ recovery organizations in the U.S., is a vital link between people waiting for life-saving organ transplants and donors. Working closely with Indiana hospitals, donor families and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), we are a team of skilled, experienced professionals responsible for overseeing and coordinating organ donation across Indiana. Our non-profit organization with 115 employees is also committed to educating Hoosiers about the importance of organ and tissue donation.

Position Duties

You'll have the opportunity to advise leadership and engage team members in developing and implementing deeply compelling stories about donation and transplantation, via media strategies, blogging, social media and other externally-focused vehicles, with the goal of enriching the Indiana Donor Network position within the public eye and increasing the number of designated donors across the state.
 
You'll serve as the primary voice of the Indiana Donor Network brand, as spokesperson, on-camera narrator and author of publications and initiatives.
 
You will also serve as the organization's chief writer, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand, collaborating across multiple departments.
 
As part of a larger community relations team, you will support state, local and national efforts to increase donor registrations through spending time on community outreach opportunities regarding donation and transplantation.

Position Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in public relations, communications, business or related field or equivalent education and five to seven years of experience as a member of the media or in a media outreach role required.  Healthcare or hospital experience is a plus.  Passion required. APR preferred.
