General Job Description
The Workforce and Leadership Development Coordinator leads programs connecting IARCA member agencies to students at Universities, Community Colleges, and adult education programs in order to expand the pool of interns and applicants and organizing leadership skills building activities for regional cohorts of new and emerging child welfare leaders. The Coordinator will be IARCA's main point of contact with staff at relevant schools statewide and the leadership development consultant(s) who will serve as faculty for the cohorts.

Responsibilities
• Help IARCA members complete applications to qualify as intern/extern host sites at relevant universities and colleges, including working with different schools to simplify the application and orientation process to reduce administrative burden on member agencies
• Plan engagement events with students at universities, colleges, community colleges, and adult education programs to allow regional agencies to interact with students and build relationships to help in recruiting
• Work with member agencies to promote careers in child welfare to students at universities, colleges, community colleges, and adult education programs
• Explore opportunities for creating an online state child welfare job bank targeted to students at universities, colleges, community colleges, and adult education programs
• Promote regional cohorts to member agencies and solicit nominations for cohort members annually
• Work with IARCA members and leadership development consultant to plan content of leadership cohorts
• Lead process to identify and select cohort participants
• Coordinate regional cohorts learning opportunity making use of in-person events and distance learning to maximize engagements that balance learning with existing job and scheduling demands

Required Qualifications
• Desire to improve the lives of children and their families through supporting a strong workforce and exceptional leaders.
• Great customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to make and implement long-term planning.
• Experience in child welfare community or workforce/leadership development.
• Comfort speaking in front of audiences
• Ability to keep multiple projects running simultaneously
• Bachelor's degree in social work, business, an otherwise related degree or equivalent work experience
• Successful experience setting and meeting deadlines

Desired Qualifications
• Experience in recruitment or workforce development
• Experience leading programs with a diversity and equity focus
• Experience receiving or providing child welfare services and/or support
• Broad understanding of the needs of the child welfare community
 
Position requires moderate in-state travel, including occasional overnight travel.
