ArtMix is seeking its next President and CEO, a caring, passionate and visionary leader who can build off the organization's many strengths and provide even greater access to the arts for students with disabilities. For nearly 40 years, ArtMix has been a statewide leader in transforming the lives of people with disabilities through the creation of art. But ArtMix is more than just a nonprofit serving students with disabilities: It's an innovator, recognized nationally as a model for creative youth development. It's impactful, with carefully developed programs committed to using best practices. And most of all, it's a nurturing and creative community where the focus is on ability, inclusion and possibilities.

ArtMix offers a variety of programs ' in the ArtMix studios, in schools, in hospitals ' led by a talented team of professional teaching artists. The organization is well known for its Urban Artisans internship program, which helps 16-22 year-olds make the transition from school to workplace, in the process creating amazing art that is sold in the ArtMix gallery and at outlets throughout Indianapolis.

This is an exciting time for ArtMix and its next President and CEO. Strong programs and a solid funding base make it possible to explore growth and providing services to even more students. To take advantage of the possibilities available, the ideal candidate will be external facing, have a revenue-focused mindset and be driven to find and implement new opportunities for the organization. Internally, the next leader must commit to maintaining a positive environment for staff and clients, while also introducing new systems and processes that keep ArtMix on the cutting edge of nonprofit business best practices.
 
Candidates must be:
• Passionate about the arts as well as access, diversity and inclusion
• Strong leaders who are optimistic, motivational and have a big-picture view
• Excellent relationship-builders and communicators who can articulate why ArtMix is an important part of our community

Candidates for President and CEO should have a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) and at least five years' experience in a leadership role. Experience in the nonprofit sector, arts and disability field highly desirable but not required. He or she should have previous experience in financial management, board governance, fundraising and personnel management. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated success in problem solving, partnership-building and strategic thinking is essential.
