Muncie Habitat for Humanity is an independent affiliate of the global nonprofit Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat works in Delaware County, transforming lives and communities through home construction new/rehab and by engaging new homeowners to help build their own homes alongside volunteers for the cause of affordable housing.

Since 1986, more than 200 families have been served in Muncie and Delaware County through new construction, home rehabilitations and home repairs.  For over 33 years, Muncie Habitat has:  stood in defiance against the cycle of poverty, supported parents who want to provide a safe and healthy home for their children, and operated the ReStore for 13 years, where building supplies, furniture, and tools are donated by individuals and businesses and then sold to help others furnish their homes; while the proceeds build even more Habitat Homes!  With God at our side and Christ as our example, we respect and serve others by helping them create family legacies through homeownership.  
 
POSITION OVERVIEW
Muncie Habitat for Humanity is seeking a detailed, efficient, energetic, and personable individual for the position of Resource Development Director. The Resource Development Director will plan, lead, and coordinate all aspects of fund development for Muncie Habitat for Humanity.

Muncie Habitat for Humanity is seeking a detailed, efficient, energetic, and personable individual for the position of Resource Development Director. The Resource Development Director will plan, lead, and coordinate all aspects of fund development for Muncie Habitat for Humanity. The Resource Development Director will also provide leadership and direction for all fundraising initiatives including major gifts (financial and gift in kind), planned giving, grant writing, special events, donor mailings, and sponsorships.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, public relations, or related field.
Three to five years' experience working in not-for-profit development including fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations. Prefer financial experience overseeing awards and grants.
Must desire to be a part of something greater than themselves, and can articulate personal fit with the mission of Habitat for Humanity. Must hold advanced knowledge of fund development theories, principles, and procedures.

Ideal applicant will possess the following skills:
• Comfortability with meeting new people and building relationships.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to self-manage and supervise the work of others.
• Strong commitment to work collaboratively with Habitat for Humanity staff members, board of directors, and community leaders.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including speech writing and public speaking.
• Strong financial acumen with proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
