The President & CEO is responsible for the overall operations of the organization including fiscal management, strategic planning, staff supervision and development, and Board and committee management.  This position is responsible for increasing the financial resources of the Foundation through the identification, cultivation, acquisition and stewardship of donor relationships and program partnerships.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:  The President & CEO represents the TechPoint Foundation Board to the broader community – general population, grantees, donors, mentors, volunteers, and partners. This position is responsible for increasing the financial resources of the Foundation through the identification, cultivation, acquisition and stewardship of donor relationships and program partnerships. The President & CEO is responsible for the overall operations of the organization including fiscal management, strategic planning, staff supervision and development, and Board and committee management. The President & CEO ensures the development, facilitation, sustainability and evaluation of all programs consistent with the Foundation's strategic plan. The President & CEO oversees all external and internal marketing and communication to ensure the Foundation's excellent reputation within the community. The President & CEO seeks opportunities to encourage and foster philanthropic activism within the Indiana science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) community.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:   The following functions have been determined by the Foundation to be essential to the successful performance of this position including, but not limited to:
 
1. Resource Development: Develops and implements an asset development strategy alongside the Asset Development Committee inorder to fund the work of the Foundation. 
• Supports the development and implementation of the annual Asset Development fundraising plan alongside the Director of Advancement.
• Conducts prospect research and data management when necessary.
• Oversees the identification, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgement, and stewardship plan for the Foundation.
• Leads or participates in all gift solicitations with major individual or corporate donors.
• Leads or assists in the production of all fundraising related events or programs.
• Assists in the management of the corporate giving program to ensure compliance with agreed upon expectations.
• Reviews all grant applications prior to submission and ensures grant reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Raises predetermined operating funds annually.
• Responsible for the fiscal integrity of all philanthropic dollars.
 
2. Program Management:
• Ultimately oversees all program development and program evaluation focused on the Foundation's mission and vision.
• Ensures ongoing programmatic excellence through the supervision and development of program staff.
• Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress and regularly evaluate program components.
 
3. External Relations: Serves as the TechPoint Foundation's representative to the greater Indiana community.
• Develops relationships with key organizations deemed critical to the Foundation's success.
• Deepens and refines all aspects of communication- from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
• Serves on appropriate committees and Boards within the community as a representative of the Foundation.
• Serves as a public liaison for the Foundation Board to the greater Indiana community.
• Speaks at multiple public events and programs annually.
• Ensures TechPoint Foundation for Youth presence at key STEM events, conferences, and seminars.
• Seeks ways to engage members of the Indiana technology community in philanthropic pursuits.
• Assists in the creation and management of specific and annual communications strategies.
• Maintains a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in STEM education and technology innovation.
 
4. Board Governance: Works with the TechPoint Foundation Board to fulfill the mission of the organization:
• Engages Board members in developing and enacting the mission of the organization.
• Leads the Board in setting and executing the goals and objectives outlined in the strategic plan.
• Responsible for guiding the Board through the creation and execution of the strategic plan.
• Ensures full Board and committee meetings are effective and efficient while addressing essential organization business.
• Communicates with members of the Board effectively and in a timely manner.
• Leads the orientation of all new Board members.
• Leads the work of select Board committees in partnership with the committee chair, and ensures overall Board committee functioning for all committees.
• Supports the Board chair and Executive Committee in the annual evaluation of the full Board, as well as, each individual member of the Board.
• Leads Board succession planning alongside the Governance Committee.
• Works to ensure the Board is functioning ethically and within the stated bylaws of the Foundation. 
 
5. Staff Supervision: Supports the work of the Foundation's senior level staff:  
• Lead, coach, develop and retain the organizations high performance senior management team of two individuals.
• Responsible for the recruitment, employment and release of all personnel, both paid staff and volunteers.
• Ensure that job descriptions are developed, that annual performance evaluations are held, and that sound human resource practices are in place.
• Effectively manage the team with appropriate provisions for succession in place for all key positions.
• Encourage staff and volunteer development and education.
• Maintain a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of top quality professionals.
 
6. Administration: Manages the overall operations of the TechPoint Foundation.
• Responsible for reviewing, approving and signing all agreements, contracts and other instruments made and entered into on behalf of the organization.
• Establishing employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and day-to-day operations of the Foundation.
• Creation and/or approval of all financial documents for the Foundation including annual operating budgets, and grant or program budgets.
• Reporting monthly on financial standing, expenses, and income to Board treasurer and accountant.
• Approving all check, online, and cash log tracking, bill processing, and grant payments.
• Updates, imports and reviews all transactions within TechPoint Foundation accounts, Quickbooks, and databases.
• Maintains all required documentation to ensure the nonprofit standing of the Foundation including all IRS, State of Indiana, insurance, and other crucial state and federal business entity documentation.
• Supports all HR processes alongside the Foundation's professional employment organization (PEO) including approval of payroll bi-monthly.
• Approval of most purchases in line with current financial policies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:  The following are the qualifications and minimum requirements necessary for a person to perform this job:
1. Ability to perform the essential functions of this position.
2. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years prior experience in the nonprofit or public sector with development and operations experience is required.
4. Proven fundraising success.
5. Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.
6. Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget
7. Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.

9. Previous experience working with a Board of Directors or having worked with a broad constituency group is preferred.
10. Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.
11. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clearly with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
12. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with others in a professional and appropriate manner.
13. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and work independently with little to no supervision.
14. Ability to organize, facilitate and manage projects and meetings in an efficient and effective manner.
15. Excellent organizational and workload prioritization skills.
16. Transparent and high integrity leadership.
17. Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff in a team-based environment that encourages and supports staff autonomy.
18. Excellent conceptual and analytical skills; ability to research and analyze data and information.
19. Working knowledge of general office equipment, including computer-based word processing and spreadsheet packages, proficiency with MS Office and Google Drive preferred. Experience working with integrated database software.
20. Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
21. Ability to travel and attend off premise events, such as community events and meetings. 
22. Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle with proof of insurance.
23. Ability to pass a criminal history check and drug screening.
