To share the love of Jesus Christ by providing gracious hospitality and compassionate support to seriously-ill patients and their families traveling to Indianapolis for critical medical care.

Role Description:
The role of the Marketing Specialist is to create relevant and compelling messaging that effectively communicates the mission, vision, culture, and core values of the organization and to deliver that messaging to target audiences through a variety of communication channels.  This position reports to the Executive Director and has a key role in promoting community awareness, increasing donor engagement, developing a strong base of community advocates, and advancing the mission of Fair Haven Foundation.  The job will require 5-10 hours per week, with some work done that must be done on site in downtown Indianapolis and some work that could be done remotely.

Responsibilities Include:
• Collaborate in the process of creating, executing, and evaluating the annual marketing and communication plan for the organization.
• Capture the stories of guests and volunteers through interviews, photographs, and videos.
• Create, produce, and distribute the organizational newsletter on a quarterly basis.
• Create and implement a strategic social media plan; generate content for regular posts; build meaningful connections through an enhanced online presence; successfully utilize social media to build an increasing network of loyal followers and community advocates.
• Create and manage content for the organizational website; ensure that the website is continually relevant, updated, and engaging through regular communication with the web developer.
• Create promotional materials for print and digital marketing in cooperation with graphic designer.
• Promote fundraising events; create and manage marketing materials for events.
• Manage and complete other marketing and communications projects as needed.

Qualifications:
• Profound understanding and passion for Fair Haven's mission, vision, and core values
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in communications, digital marketing and social media
• Superb writing and communication skills with an ability to communicate key messages effectively and to motivate people through inspirational messaging based on our culture
• Excellent interviewing skills with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
• Keen understanding of marketing in the nonprofit sector and the ability to understand and connect with donors and target audiences
• Knowledge of best practices in marketing and communications
• Experience with a variety of communication platforms including web design, newsletters, video story-telling, and social media platforms and their business applications
• Understanding of social media metrics with ability to interpret the results and take action to increase effectiveness of social media campaigns
• Excellent computer skills in word-processing; electronic communications and marketing; and publishing, photo, and graphics software
• Strong ability to organize, prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and be flexible in work assignments
• Excellent initiative, problem-solving, project management, and independent work skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Collaborative skills to work cooperatively with staff and volunteers
• Empathetic and caring demeanor with ability to work well with families in crisis
