The Individual Giving and Annual Fund Manager supports the Director of Development to build and maintain individual donor relations, major gifts, and annual giving for the Indianapolis Art Center. This position is responsible for management of the Art Center's annual appeal calendar, mailings, and peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives, as well as researching, strategizing, and reporting to assist in stewardship and personalized relationship building with all levels of donors. Other responsibilities include communications with donors, participating in events, and assisting with general development departmental projects. This position also plays an integral role in growing a culture of philanthropy that is respectful, ethical, and transparent with donors and also meets the organization's fundraising needs. 

Essential Job Functions: 

Individual Giving Management 
Collaborates with the Director of Development, the Executive Director, and the Director of Finance to develop strategy for annual appeals. 
Writes, coordinates and executes appeals across multiple platforms, including direct mail, digital, social media, and peer-to-peer (classroom, faculty & staff appeals). 
Develops annual calendar of appeals, updates, reports, and stewardship that coordinates with marketing and development team. 
Writes content and works with marketing team to develop and maintain database of compelling impact stories for use in appeals, class catalogs, signage, videos, blog articles, and other materials. 
Oversees classroom appeal fundraising initiatives by identifying and recruiting volunteer leaders, creating the necessary structures for support along with training them to deliver messages that are compelling, accurate, and personalized. 
Manages follow-up efforts with annual fund donors and event participants for fundraising cultivation. 
Reports regularly on annual fund giving and appeal status; maintains dashboards to assess areas of potential need. 
Identifies and builds a portfolio of donors for personal cultivation. 
Major Gift Research & Support 
Assists Director of Development in recommending data points and benchmarks from which to evaluate the growth of fundraising appeals, donor constituencies, and donor relationship growth ("moves") over time. 
Researches donor interests, involvement, and relationships within and outside organization to inform committees and solicitors of possible strategies. 
Prepares reports for major gift prospects for Executive Director, Director of Development, and other solicitors in preparation for meetings. 
Other Donor Relations 
Assists in developing, managing, and staffing donor tours and ongoing cultivation events. 
Supports board and volunteer committees as appropriate. 
Additional Functions 
Supervises interns as needed. 
Completes other duties as assigned. 
Competency Requirements (Education, Skills & Experience): 
3-5 years' experience in Development, Annual Fund or Major Gifts Research. 
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree or combination of education, training and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in arts administration, art, art education, or a related field. 
Formal education and/or professional development in philanthropy also preferred 
Advanced computer skills and demonstrated proficiency in donor management software, specifically Raiser's Edge. 
Interest in or experience with major gift fundraising preferred. 
Peer-to-peer fundraising experience required. 
Knowledge of Donor Relations best practices, policies & processes. 
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience. 
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to create personal relationships and to communicate effectively, delivering exceptional customer service to a diverse variety of stakeholders (i.e. donors, sponsors, and volunteers), both verbally and in writing. 
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: 
This position works regular hours with some evenings and weekend hours. 
Ability to work in open office setting. 
Ability to work with a team-centric structure. 
Be able to lift up to 25lbs for event sets ups / files.
