The Owen County Community Foundation (OCCF), office located in Spencer, Indiana, was established in 1994 to improve the quality of life and environment for all residents.  As we entered our 26th year, the Foundation had total assets of $8.7M, an operating expense budget of $245,000, and last year awarded scholarships and grants in excess of $323,000.

The CEO/President is accountable for the overall administration and management of the Owen County Community Foundation. Major responsibilities include efforts to grow the OCCF assets and develop donor relationships.  The CEO also networks with local leaders and non-profit organizations to identify opportunities to further the OCCF's community impact.   In partnership with the volunteer Board of Directors, the CEO helps to initiate, develop, and execute a strategic plan.

The OCCF has built a strong network of friendly and productive collaboration with local non-profits and community partners. In a beautiful rural setting, the OCCF has taken on work to increase academic achievement and improve the quality of place here. Through a local partnership, the OCCF has led a project to build a community trail, the MYPath Trail System, which will connect the Owen County Family YMCA and McCormick's Creek State Park via sidewalk trails through Spencer and walking paths along the White River. In our recent work, we have been reaching out to the younger residents of our community, the "rising generations," to find ways to connect with a younger audience and help create an atmosphere that will look to the future of our community and our organization. The OCCF has also built a strong portfolio of planned gifts with our supportive donors that will allow continued growth in assets and impact to our community.
