Indy AfterSchool Corps members serve in afterschool programs at community-based service sites in areas of high poverty. Education Directors implement/ support educational youth programs and volunteer opportunities.
Roles and responsibilities will vary by service site. Responsibilities include: development and implementation of academic enrichment programs; supervision of state-funded literacy and numeracy program; supervision and implementation of Power Hour homework/tutoring program; management of volunteer tutors; relationship development with key staff at feeder schools; administration of evaluation tools to measure increases in academic success through data collection; tracking of youth participation; and spreading visibility of the AmeriCorps program within service site community.
