The Director of Programs is responsible for the strategic and operational success of all of TechPoint Foundation for Youth's (TPF4Y) STEM programs, including providing leadership across program development, execution, evaluation, and impact reporting. The Director of Programs will work directly with the President/CEO  and Board of Directors to drive the overall programmatic strategy for the organization.
As a leader in STEM education efforts for the state of Indiana, TechPoint Foundation for Youth (TPF4Y) is committed to providing our state's K-12 students, especially those typically underrepresented in STEM industry, with equal opportunities to explore experiential STEM learning opportunities. We believe that Indiana's youth should not only be equipped to address the growing talent demand for a skilled STEM workforce, but also inspired to do so. We are, and continue to be, the leader in connecting youth-serving organizations, STEM programs, and STEM industry, accelerating high-impact STEM programs, and stewarding vital opportunities for the benefit of Indiana's student populations.
The following functions have been determined by the Foundation to be essential to the successful performance of this position including, but not limited to:

Program Strategic Planning and Development
• Develops and/or enhances programmatic systems and processes
• Sets up and executes the goals and objectives for STEM Programs
• Ensures each STEM program's goals are aligned with TPF4Y's mission & strategic plans
• Identifies new  STEM Programs that align with our mission that keeps our program offerings up to date and in current demand of the STEM workforce

Board and Committee Management
• Identifies and engages all STEM board and program committee members 
• Works with the program committee in setting and executing the goals and objectives for all STEM programs
• Oversees the scheduling and preparation of Program Committee materials for board meetings
• Assists in the orientation of new Program Committee members

Fundraising and Partnership Development
• Develops and implements formal evaluation, statistical tracking, and data collection necessary for fundraising impact reports and grants
• Participates in gift solicitation for key partners when necessary

Outreach and Public Relations
• Serves as one of the TechPoint Foundation representatives to the community
• Serves on appropriate committees and boards within the community
• Develops and maintains relations with the Indiana education community with regard to our
STEM programs
• Collaborates and communicates with key partners of STEM programs
• Ensures TechPoint Foundation for Youth's presence at key events, conferences, and seminars related to our STEM programs
• Maintains other contacts as appropriate

Program Operations Management
• Oversees and ensures the successful operation of all STEM Programs
• Monitors formal evaluation, statistical tracking and data collection of STEM programs performance
• Volunteer Management
  o Supports the professional development of program leaders through workshops and other training resources to assure all volunteers are prepared to impact students within their STEM program
• Event Management
  o Oversees program specific event management of Robotics State Championship, CoderDojo Hackathon, Hour of Code as well as any other STEM program-related program events

Program Grant Administration
• Ensures grant application and eligibility requirements are within the overall project goal and financial abilities of the project
• Implements strategies to promote the purpose, work and outcomes of STEM programs

Budget and Financial Management
• Helps create an annual program and event budget for each supported STEM program
• Monitors expenses within each program to make sure we stay within budget for each program and program event

Communication Strategy
• Reviews the annual communications committee plans and participates as needed to ensure STEM program-related communication is incorporated in overall Foundation plans
• Oversees that content is being developed regularly to be used in a variety of communications vehicles including web-based, print, and social media to promote and support STEM programs

• Supports team spirit by wearing foundation attire on Fridays
• All other duties as assigned
The following are the qualifications and minimum requirements necessary for a person to perform this job:
1. Ability to perform the essential functions of this position.
2. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
3. Experience with leading youth serving programs or classroom work.
4. Classroom teaching experience preferred.
5. STEM Education experience 
6. Experience with operations, project management, event, and fiscal management is preferred.
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and work independently with little to no supervision.
8. Experience working with a board or committee group preferred.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write clearly with proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
10. Ability to speak, write, and dress in a professional and appropriate manner.
11. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with others in a professional and appropriate manner, including the ability to discuss multiple concepts with others.
12. Excellent organizational and workload prioritization skills.
13. Excellent conceptual and analytical skills; ability to research and analyze data and information; prefer prior experience with program evaluation.
14. Working knowledge of general office equipment, including computer-based word processing and spreadsheet packages, proficiency with MS Office and products preferred.
15. Ability to organize, facilitate and manage projects and meetings in an efficient and effective manner.
16. Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
17. Ability to travel statewide if needed and between multiple program locations and attend off-premise events. Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
18. Ability to work from home effectively during the 2020-2021 school year if necessary.
