Wabash Center is hiring for a Chief Financial Officer in our Lafayette offices to oversee Finance and IT operations.

Wabash Center comes from humble beginnings. The origin of the organization can be traced to a core group of families with children who had special needs. Discouraged by the lack of resources and options available to them and others like them they placed an ad in the Journal and Courier in 1952 seeking other families dealing with the same challenges. It was an attempt to find strength in numbers and to create services where none existed before. Today, Wabash Center has grown into a comprehensive service provider for those with disabilities or special needs that is leading the way to supporting individuals in their pursuit of quality of life for them and their families.

We have an established history of providing quality care for those with a disability or special needs. We love what we do. We've been doing this for a long time and we're not going to stop any time soon.

We offer dozens of programs and services. These services span numerous age groups and are designed to meet the needs of those we serve wherever they are in life. Our progressive approach leads to us continually pursuing new methods to better serve individuals. Programs and services may change, but their purpose and the level of care will always remain constant.

Position Duties

A. Strategic Leader
a. Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
b. Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, and program strategies; designing systems; building reserves; resolving problems; and implementing change.

B. Business Partner
a. Cultivates relationships among program personnel, garnering credibility by creating and delivering financial information that is understandable and actionable.
b. Collaborates with leaders to develop annual departmental and organizational budgets and provides regular forecasts to management and board of directors.

C. Financial Expert
a. Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans.
b. Reports financial status by preparing business reports, forecasts and other financial statements; reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements.
c. Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
d. Performs risk management evaluations by analyzing the organization's liabilities and investments and serves as a subject matter expert on financial compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
e. Prepares information for annual financial audits and appropriate tax filings.

D. Manager
a. Supervises and monitors the day to day performance activity of the Finance team, the IT team, and the Facilities team
b. Accomplishes team and individual employee development strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; and planning and reviewing compensation strategies
c. Manages any third parties to which accounting and/or payroll functions have been outsourced as well as banking relationships.

Position Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA and/or CPA is highly desired.
Minimum 5 years' experience a CFO or strategic Controller role, ideally in a non-profit setting.
Strong understanding of Accounting principles.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
